I played the final beta, it ran worse than the beta from 6 months ago, it literally would not run on my machine. I could get 1 frame every 30 seconds. I'm on an Athlon 2800, 2GB RAM, Geforce 6800 GS.

Not sure what to tell ya on that man. Your machine should be blowing mine away for performance ...
