Re: No one left to argue with!

I learned yesterday that to reproduce, the male octopus rips off what you would consider his penis and throws it at the female to inseminate herself.

So, there's that.

Re: ferguson, mo

Just realized I read your post completely wrong, Harrison.. oof!

So let me try again to respond to your actual post.. >.<

Honestly, I tend to agree with you that military service is likely a good idea for police officers. I think the problem lies with plausibility in implementation. So assuming ...

Re: ferguson, mo

In my honest opinion I believe police officers should be required to have former military service.

Their training is just so dismally sub-par as it is and I don't foresee it changing without a drastic influx of money that we don't have.

If police academy were closer to the military's strict ...

Re: ferguson, mo

Up here we require criminal justice degrees, down there? I doubt they even need a degree in anything.

In many places I've seen or lived, this is often the case. Kind of like how it worked in Norfolk when I was 18.. it was like a third went off college, half went off to the Navy, and the rest of ...

You have to question the efficacy of body cams, though, when an actual recording of the entire ordeal did absolutely nothing for Garner.

Re: ferguson, mo

it makes the police and us the combatants.

This is also the problem in the use of grand jury proceedings to indict a cop.

The prosecutor's job is to get an indictment. But a prosecutor doesn't want to indict a cop, because it puts the prosecutors at odds with the police department when they are ...

Interestingly, too, Jay.. after I posted last night, I stumbled across something from Slate that addresses your exact question:

Re: ferguson, mo

I'll go ahead and repeat.. "Their community" is the poor community. The black on black crime you're talking about doesn't happen in middle class suburbia. There's just as much violence in impoverished white areas. This isn't a matter of black people being less civilized. People keep trying to frame ...

Why is it when someone has a difference of opinion on something, they're called retarded or some other type of name calling.

Everyone thinks it's racially motivated. It might be, it might not be. We'll never know. A ton of misinformation here from Brinstar to Zanchief.

But Jay is correct about ...

Your story is beautiful, Ganzo, it truly is.

I don't intend to discredit any of your hard work, but I think it's important to note that 1993 and 2014 are much different times. If the same were to happen today, you likely wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of obtaining legal residency here ...

Re: new trial for M. Alexander (FL, 20 yrs for warning shot)

There's not enough credible information for me to go one way or the other on Dunn.

One eyewitness said he kept coming at the officer.
Some eyewitnesses claim he never moved.
Some are saying something was in his hands.
Some are saying nothing relevant.

It's a shitshow and it's unlikely with the ...

Officer in Ferguson caught on live video pointing his weapon at unarmed press, threatening to kill them. He had to be restrained by other officers before he lowered his weapon. If this is how police there behave WHILE BEING FILMED, how bad are they when there's no witnesses?

Considering it's already been stated by several sources that Wilson didn't know Brown was a suspect, it's completely irrelevant to the case. Even if he did, I'm not sure that there's any universe that some Swisher Sweets and a shove should be punishable by death. Anything under $500 is a misdemeanor ...

really great read.
