I played MUDs often in the 80s, but I can't go back to them. I also love my eye candy, and its hard to return to them from EQ and SWG to text MUDs

EQ is largely based off of Diku muds, and was amazing for its time.

That said, I hope the third generation of MMOs is more of an original creation ...

I never played Planetside, but is it really a 1000+ user per server MMO/FPS? If so, how do they recover thier bandwidth costs? 14.95/month for a person that plays 8 to 12 hours a day (the power gamer) probably barely pays for thier 30kbit/s usage? Ive known a few people that played ...
