Macs are quite stable and run on hardware a lot more advanced than PCs. The problem is, at least used to be, not sure about it now, is that the hardware is proprietary, meaning that you HAVE to buy Mac parts and because of that, they tend to be a bit higher priced when yuo want to upgrade it piece-meal.

PCs also tend to have more available software due to the open-ness of it all.

Macs are good for graphics, video, and audio hands down. PCs can't really compete.

I wouldn't be surprised that in the near future, however, we start seeing more and more stuff for macs due to .Net and Java, and OSX+ running nix kernel.

Plus some more other random information and arguments but all very minor really...

But yeah, hands-down a mac is for audio and video editing etc.

A PC can't touch it there.

Mac Laptops completely and totally own PC laptops.

OSX is also very simple to get used to.

    I'd highly recommend it.

If you want a mac laptop for yourself and plan on gaming with it, give up now.

But if you're going to use it for everything else, it is extremely simple to use once you get the hang of it. (which isn't difficult in the first place)

Mac hardware is shit. If I could run the OS on standard PC hardware, I would. Everyone saying that PC's can't touch Macs as far as graphics, audio and video go have no idea what the fuck they are talking about. The only advantage a Mac has over a PC at this point is the cool OS. The hardware is TOTALLY inferior ie, slower, less reliable and yes, totally proprietary.

Macs are great when you get them from work, don't have to pay for them and work pays for them to be fixed when they break. The average consumer without an IT budget is much better off going with a PC.
