3 of the darkest years in a franchise with a dark, dark history, were authored by that man. Nice guy, horrible coach.

h9 the Eagles and T.O. but thought I would share this.. he had his surgery at Mercy (my employer) with a surgeon that I work with on a regular basis.

Heartiest congratulations to Dr. Mark Myerson, medical director of The Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy, for performing reconstructive ankle surgery on the NFL Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver Terrell Owens this morning at Mercy. Shortly after surgery, Dr. Myerson led a noon news conference with national and local media in the Weinberg Center explaining the details of Mr. Owens' successful surgical procedure.

Dr. Mark Myerson led the press conference and made a powerpoint presentation, first noting that the surgery was a technical success and that Mr. Owens would be monitored over the next two months. He further explained the extent of the injury to the tear of the syndesmosis ligament, the insertion of plate and screws for stabilization, and estimating a 8-12 week timeframe for the patient's return to athletic activity.

Information about the nature of this procedure may now be found on the website of the Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction http://www.drmyerson.com or http://footandankle.mdmercy.com Efforts are being made to determine if video from the press conference can be posted on the Mercy http://www.mdmercy.com website.

Media in attendance included:
ESPN (which carried the news conference live from Mercy)
CNN Cable News
Associated Press
The Washington Post
Five Philadelphia news stations--KYW TV, KTXF TV, KYW AM, WB 17 News at 10 & WPVI TV
CN 8 Comcast News Network (also featured a 2nd live interview with Dr. Myerson at 1 p
The Philadelphia Daily News
Local media included: WJZ TV 13, WBAL TV 11, WMAR TV 2 and WBFF Fox 45
The Baltimore Sun and The Baltimore Business Journal

Special thanks to Mercy's Facilities, Security, Housekeeping, Telecom and Parking
departments for their help in preparing our hospital for this national exposure,
particularly on short notice. My special thanks as well to Dan Collins, Director of Media
Relations and Kevin Parks, Audiovisual Technician for organizing and coordinating the news
conference at Mercy.
