Metroid Prime 2...

Post by 10sun »

Opinions? I played it for a while in deathmatch with my friend. Controls sucked penis... having to stand still in order to free look to aim sucked so much. It eventually devolved into us dropping into ball mode and racing around bombing each other.

i feel you on the stand-still-to-free-look complaint, it is pretty harsh. though i haven't played deathmatch at all yet, i do really enjoy the game itself. it seems better-designed than prime1 overall. i JUST got the dark beam though, so i'm not very far in.

i haven't played it yet, but i imagined multiplayer would probably be pretty terrible.

update: single player makes me motion sick really fast... very few games do that.

I actually tried the multiplayer for the first time over the weekend (had the game since it came out back in Nov.). It feels very tacked-on.

The maps were small, pretty boring, the power-ups were so-so. I think the multiplayer for XIII was way better (only other 'Cube fps I can think of that has multi), since you can toss a bunch of bots into the mix (the AI is scary good) to really spice things up.

After about 20 minutes we just went back to playing MarioKart 64. :boots:
I don't need no instructions to know how to ROCK!

The only thing I saw of Prime2 was the multiplayer and that completely turned me off from the game. I even have a $300 gift card for EBGames and I haven't given it a second glance. Maybe I'll reconsider if the single player is a huge difference.
