enchanter advice?

Postby Weazilla » Tue Jan 04, 2005 1:26 pm

Is there any easy way to raise my enchanting skill? I became an enchanter late in the game and it's hard to find the lower lvl enchanting stuff.

Go farm lower level areas for greens if your skill is still low. Its the only advice I can give you. That or take up tailoring and disenchant low green tailoring items.

I rarely enchanted anything until I could no longer get skillups from disenchants (I think around 40ish or so). Then I found my cheapest enchantment and cast it over and over on my gear to skill up if none of my friends needed enchantments.

Adivina's advice about taking up tailoring is good advice as well.

Also, since it's late in the game, you are probably established with your money. Make a newb happy and buy out all his crap lowbie gear for a few silver and disenchant those. Or, level up an alt and disenchant all the stuff you find with that character.

i did tailoring / enchanting and never even disenchanted any of my items until i was already at 300 . It was better profit to just make and sell bags and buy and disenchant green items

Just picked up 'chanting myself on an alt, so I'm not an expert, but my impression of how to go about gathering dust and whatnot would be to (pretty much as already outlined):

-Make cheap-and-easy green recipes and disenchant them repetitively. Seems like it would be farily easy, especially if you're already in your mid-teens to twenties, when Linen and Wool (assuming tailor, since 'chanting seems fairly exclusive to tailors) are all easily farmed up. If you're 30's-40's+, silk should be a breeze too.

-Clear out insance dungeons like WC or SFK if you can manage it. These are the lowest level dungeons you can expect to get blue drops from too, right? Should come out with plenty of disenchant fodder. Of course, this is assuming you are already in your 30's-40's or beyond...

I dunno. Just started up a Warlock, only in the mid-teens yet, and that's been my plan so far anyway :P
I don't need no instructions to know how to ROCK!

Well my other skill is mining, for the selling metal bars. I used to be an engineer but I found that it was a huge money pit = /. I'm mostly just having problem getting a decent amount of strange dust. I have tons of vision and soul dust though.

Low level items. Greenie items with a reccomended level of like... 7. That is what will give you Strange Dust.
