Patriots vs Steelers

Where everyone discusses football, and two dorks try to pretend people actually like the NBA and spam what should be in PMs.

Diekan, you don't know a whole lot about football do you? You're taking stats out of context and trying to bend them to prove a point.

Ok the Pats had more passing yards...maybe because Brady threw the ball TWENTY MORE TIMES since they were behind by 21 the whole game vs. a soft zone defense? And to still only put up 270 with 48 pass attempts is pretty much domination.

Then you say "What Pittsburgh did to New England was exactly what New England did to Indy - ran the hell out of the ball and kept the O off the field", and somehow that classifies as a domination, but Pitt vs NE doesn't.

Just accept the Pats got spanked that first game and will play better this game and probably even win, instead of trying to justify it.

How do you take stats out of context and bend them to your favor? Numbers are numbers... they're inflexable.

The ONLY reason the Steelers won that game is because they kept the ball on the ground and ran the hell out of the clock.

But, I don't need to justify anything - come Sunday we'll see who *spanks* who. And, by Monday I'll be picking up a new crisp 50 dollar bill from a coworker.

I don't even know why I am defending the Pats this much - they aren't even my team -

Fucking Bills.

Try watching the game next time, dude.

NE got their asses kicked. They had less than 280 yards of total offense. Brady was hit often, and INTed often. They lost on both lines. That is a FACT.

Six rushes for five yards, and being down by 3 touchdowns early = asskicking.

Having your D on the field for 43 out of 60 minutes = asskicking.

Here's the final indicator of getting your ass kicked, unless you are St Lous

Rushing Yards
Pitt - 221
New England - 5

The game was never close. It was never in question. I guess all you look at is bizarre stats. The bottom line is Pitt ran OVER NE. They kicked their ass at BOTH lines of scrimmage. NE couldn't run, or stop the run.

Throwing for some yardage in the second half when they were three+ scores down did not make this a close game.

Pitt could've scored two more TDs in the 4th quarter, but didnt and choose to run time off.

It was a complete asskicking despite you trying to spin it any other way. Just stare at the Rushing yards and time of possession. That is fucking pwnage.

Changed teams? Learning to read is a wonderful thing.... I rec you try it. Where did I ever claim NE as *my team?* Funny thing is I didn't.

I know full well who my team is - and it ain't the New England Patriots.

The Bills are at home right now watching the playoffs - and as much as I would have liked for them to at least have made the post season - they didn't. However, NE did - and NE IS in my division. Regardless of our rivalry with the Pats - seeing our division win another Bowl does mean something. Besides I friggen hate the Steelers.

Rather than sitting at home crying about how the Bills didn't make it (and making the post season out to be *just another weekend*). I'll enjoy it by following a good team and cheering for them... that doesn't mean I've jumped ship, nor does it mean I'm going to rush out tomorrow and buy a Patriots hat.

If Bledsoe is a second stringer, AJ isa third stringer. He's a complete system QB who shouldnt start anywhere that requires anything of him.

A few tidbits about the first game between Steelers and Patriots:

Patriots got their ass kicked.

Most people know Corey Dillon didn't play, but also Kevin Faulk (backup, shifty 3rd down back) was also injured.

RT Ashworth injured, Ty Law injured on the first series. Tyrone Poole already went down earlier in the year, but this was the game where the Patriots finally had to field a bench/practice squad CB secondary. Having to adjust after that first series was too difficult to overcome. Right after Law got injured Roethlisburger threw a deep TD pass to Law's replacement, and a now wide-open Plaxico Burress. With no running backs, and having to play from behind with zero threat of the run, the game totally shifted to a Pittsburgh style grind the clock out game.

NE also had the pressure of continuing to deal with the hype of the consecutive game winning streak. Pittsburgh came off a bye week and had two weeks to prepare for this game.

The consensus was NE's streak would end either in Pitt or in St. Louis -- it ended in Pitt.

Belichick is 13-0 in games where he faces a QB for the 2nd time. In 2001 they beat the Steelers in Heinz, so NE has some confidence that it can be done.

Both teams will be hyped up to play, it's the AFC Championship. Whoever wants it more will squeak out a win. If Pitt plays the way they did against the lowly Jets, they'll lose.

This is going to be a rough game.

It's 4 degrees with a high of 16. Good chance of snow.

Losman does have legs. And they can make him scramble. Then he uses his arm to throw the ball.

Cool, eh?

We're ignoring what may be the better game, Atlanta vs Philly.

Nice to watch the Vick Experience outdoors against Jim Johnson's D.
