I find it interesting his desire to read the exact translations caused him to be ostracized by some of the evangelicals.

Because they know that the exact translations will differ than their interpretations since there is only one bible and a crapload interpretations.

Well, there are different ways to translate different sentences, and thats not even taking Colloqualisms into account.
