Western Plaugelands cauldron cleansing

Postby Aatrex » Wed Feb 09, 2005 1:00 pm

Has anyone done these? I did the first one, cleared the place etc, turned in the specific parts and like...nothing happened. Just wondering if there is a point to them at the end of all the cauldrons possibly.

You need to get the keys off of the bosses at each Cauldron. After you clear the area use the key along with the vendored item back at the Bulwark and you get xp and a decent amount of Argent Dawn faction. Remember that the vendor item you buy is only good for like 15 minutes. I don't recall getting anything special at the end but you do get a cool email that asks you to do more cauldron runs=P

This is also the quest that you need to carry the Vitreous Focuser along with you and collect the Osseus Agitators and such...make sure you're wearing your argent dawn commision trinket when you kill the mobs in the area.

I wasn't sure if I was getting the quests confused or not, it's been a while since I had done it.

There are two parts to the quest for each cauldron. The first requires you to eliminate the cauldronboss and use his key to unlock the cauldron and fill the vial from the questgiver. The second requires you to kill various undead and collect their arcane bits. Then you use the arcane bits along with a vendored item to alter the contents of the cauldron.

The first part gives you exp and faction, the second just faction as I recall.

Yeah I was talking about the 2nd part. Seemed kinda pointless to me is why I asked. I must not have noticed the faction on my turnin however.

Thanks

I got a whopping 500xp each for my efforts in doing the part with the osseous agitators, etc. part for the first two cauldrons.
Hardly worthwhile unless you know about it beforehand (which I did not), and even then... meh.

Its not for the exp, more for the faction. Was confused when I first did them, but then I check my faction, denent boost.

What exactly is worthwile about Argent Dawn faction? Can you actually buy anything worth having from their vendor once you have garnered enough of their favor and accrued enough of their little tokens? :dunno:

I read something someplace about the vendor only having health/mana potions (and only in limited quantities) that were slightly better than the best player-made ones as reward for your faction grinding troubles. Sounded underwhelming at best...
