Fraps Video Capture

Postby Ginzburgh » Thu Feb 10, 2005 8:19 pm

Hey guys,

I don' t know if this is the right forum to post this in but it's in regards to making WoW movies.

Is anyone familiar with Fraps? If so, I am trying to use the free version to make videos of WoW, but I want to splice shots together and stuff. I have avid video editor however I can't import the fraps file into my "editing bin" because Avid says the file is non-recognizable.

After looking around in Fraps's website, I found that only people that have fraps can view the video. Does this mean the video is not one of the regular movie file formats thus cannot be manipulated in any way?

It wouldn't surprise me considering with the free Fraps you get 30 seconds of video capture which is way more than enough considering the videos I would make will contain spliced shots no longer than 5 seconds a piece.

Well it's only 30 bucks so it might be worth it.

Does anyone know if it's worth it? Will it achieve what I want it to do?

I've only really taken videos from it, never spliced or nothing :dunno:

For a program like FRAPS I would happily pay the $30.

If not, look for a crack

For Vonk's sake I will not post where to look.
How do you like this spoiler, motherfucker? -Lyion

I have it and I love it. I made a video of us doing Upper Spire but I need it hosted somewhere.
