No, it hit them also, they just had enough HP not to die. It's caused by a bug in the way one of the curses works in Molten Core.

Well, technically it's not a bug. What it is is this: One of the bosses in Molten Core does an effect very like the necro spell, Curse of Doom. It's a timer, and when the timer goes off, it does a very large AOE. (3200 points, obviously). Now, Warlock and Hunter pets are currently coded such that whenever you unsummon them, they retain all negative spell effects on them while they're unsummoned, so that they're still there when they're re-summoned. This is to prevent someone from just unsummoning and resummoning them to remove dots, etc.

So, what Biny did is he got his Felhunter hit with that curse, then he immediately unsummoned it. Then, he ran back to IF, ran into the AH, summoned the Felhunter again. The timer on the curse ran out, and KABOOM. It hit everyone there, it was just only the Afterlife people had enough HP to survive it, pretty much.

I'm not saying that they intended for people to be able to blow up the Auction Hall, but Warlock/Hunter pets retaining dots/curses/etc when unsummoned is absolutely intended behavior. So, while they may well change it soon, it didn't happen because something was bugged, it was an unintended consequence of things "working as intended". heh.

I just want to see it done to the assholes who sit in the firepots, or the casino spammers.

So what if he did it to be a dick? It was not like he was using an exploit. Should we suspend people who sneak up on others and kill them when they are low on hp from killing a mob? They are being dicks and know what they are doing too.

He definitely know what he was doing. He videotaped it.

I think what he did was hilarious. He should be thanked for beta-testing and pointing out the bug / oversight before some numb-nut used it as an exploit.

It reminds me a lot of when the /targetgroupbuff command came into being in EQ

I know a couple of people who got suspended for porting unsuspecting people to hate, or Toxx forest or some other god forsaken spot on the map
