Agreed

Grouping I've found is only good for loot and finishing quests.

The ONLY thing I ask for right now is smith created Durability fix items.

Spending 4 hours in Molten Core having to end the raid because of durability blows.

I want them to fix pvp gouge for my rog. I have imp gouge 3 and when i'm in pvp, i gouge them, it's suposed to last the full 5.5 seconds, when it lasts 5.5 seconds i can restealth after 5 and cheap shot them. 95% of the time it lasts 1, maybe 2.

More profession perks along the same train of thought as Taxx: i.e. Give some first aid bonus to herbalists or let them apply various herbs to bandages akin to armor kits; let blacksmiths repair weapons and armor; let engineers fire canons or activate certain objects et cetera.

What to change....

Blacksmithing is the greatest waste of time, money, and effort known to mankind. (I'm currently 287) 'Smiths can create almost no items that are better than regular drops at any given level.. And NO items that better can't be bought at the Auction House for less than it costs you to make it. The polearm "Blight" is about the only thing I can make money on, and even then not much, and only if I take hours away from gameplay to mine materials. Besides that, Mithril Spurs, Shield Spikes, Weapon chains are about it. The real good stuff is absolutely INSANE to have to make: You MUST do an instance run and kill a Boss to get to the Forge to even smelt Dark Iron ore into useable bars. It is the ONLY forge in the game where you can create Dark Iron bars, so you MUST do that instance run every time you need to make these items. And if that weren't enough, it takes EIGHT pieces of ore to make ONE bar, and 18 bars to make even the smallest item I have (a Blue hammer). That's 144 pieces of a rare ore that must be mined and carried around (plus 5 Hearts of Fire), in order to make one hammer which is quite nice, but not as nice as other things that are available at that level. Same with getting Arcanite - It takes weeks and LOTS of help to accumulate enough Arcanite to create a sword. A sword which, like almost everything else a 'Smith can make, is only somewhat decent for it's level.

I just thank myself for not being dumb enough to go Armorsmith... They have it 4X as hard just to get the title, and still have the exact same issues.

So Blacksmithing needs fixed - Being able to repair your own gear, and later on to make repairs on party gear would go a long way towards making 'Smithing worthwhile. Allowing Blacksmith~able items like spurs, counterweights, spikes, and weapon chains, to stack with magical enchantments would also go a long way. That way someone doesn't have to choose between Spurs and a STA/AGI enchantment, or they can install a chain on their precious glowing weap. More recipes for items that are actually Desirable, would complete the picture. For example - I would LOVE to be able to make some GOOD (high Green and Blue) knives. There simply aren't enough of them in the game for Rogues, and allowing a 'Smith to provide that would go a long way towards helping two classes.

My Warr took it in the shorts on 'smithing, so my Druid alt is purely a gatherer, because I've found that I always end up buying what I need anyways, unless it's a ques reward or a lucky drop. This way both my major trades (Mining and Herbalism) are pure money makers. I went Mining and Herbal because there are LOTS of people doing leather, plus good items already in the game, and so the value of it is not what the other two are. On my server Ore and Herbs still sell quickly and at a good profit.

New Warrior Skill - "Drinking Problem" Shortens the potion timer by one second per rank. (ony half a joke...)

Warriors could really, really use better Rage generation (supposedly being worked on), and *either* a small %~age boost to damage, *or* a small %~age boost to Hit Points, *or* a small %~age bonus to Armor Class. There's some other near-useless tricks (like Thunder Clap), I could talk about, but they'd probably be meaningless unless you've spent time with the class. And then I wouldn't need to mention them. Anyways - IMHO, a small boost to Warr stats would let them better fill their intended Tanking role without changing Blizzard's intent for the Character or unbalancing the game.

There... A book for you guys to ridicule....

I was really impressed with tradeskills at low lvls

I remember making all the shit i needed
was awesome

then I hit about lvl 25ish, and suddenly, none of the tradeskilling stuff is worth using

I still think UO got it right, and the 2nd best stuff you could ever get was the best tradeskill items

"Diminishing Returns" is when you have to expend a LOT more resources to get a small improvement.

For example - Slap a little turbocharger and a pipe on your car, and you get a very nice power boost for a not too obnoxious amount of money.... But say you want MORE power. Well, turning up the boost WILL lead to horrible detonation problems - Like blowing holes in pistons and shooting Con-Rods out the bottom of the engine cases. Since raising the boost shoots compression ratios through the roof, you have to rebuild the motor and install low-compression pistons. But more power means more stress, so you install Titanium Con-rods... But now the stress is on the crank.... so you upgrade that..... Now the stress is in the.... So you....

The first upgrade was easy and could be done by a competent backyard mechanic. "Diminishing Returns" sets in when you want to go further - It takes a LOT more money and effort to get ever smaller increases.

In other words, the more stuns you chain together, the less effective they will be. It will take more combo points to do the same amount of stun time. Stuns for rogues have diminishing returns, just like all forms of CC.

if rogues have diminishing returns on their stuns, how is it possible to keep someone locked in stun the whole time as you kill them? i think it's possible anyway

Because you can kill any mail, leather, cloth wearer in less then 10 seconds. Take 5 seconds, go to the rogue boards search for "Diminishing Returns" then get educated.

A Feign LD device. When you realise you've been invited into a suckass instance group, or being harrassed you can activate it. It makes you completeley invisible to players and changes your name temporarily. But you can still port back to your home city and play normally.

also, not all of rogues stuns are on the same Diminishing Return timer, Gouge, Cheap Shot are on one, Kidney Shot is on one and Maces Stun Proc is on one. but if you fight something long enough for them to become immune to your stuns, then you should have left that paladin alone.

You can keep them stun locked for the entire time. But it only with the right build. With initiative, and imp gouge 3, it's somewhat easy.

Cheapshot
(one sinister strike or backstab)
Kidney shot-You should have a 4 point stun if you have initiative 5, a good chance rather. (Lasts 5 seconds)
Save energy and gouge.
Stealth and cheap shot them again. Repeat cycle. Or if you can't get another stealth off, just vanish and cheap shot them really quick. By the time you cheap shot them again and save your energy, the cooldown on your other rogue abilities should be done. And if it's not, just use blind if you have the powder and save your energy up then vanish or stealth and cheap shot em.

That's how i keep them stun locked anyway. Haven't read any of the guides or anything, just lots of expirmenting.

Who ever said you couldn't keep them locked? You asked why gouge wouldn't work the full duration the entire time, I told you why.
