Dolphins sign 2 DE's -- Vonnie Holidayyyy and Kevin Caaarter

Postby Tadpole » Mon Mar 07, 2005 4:10 pm

these two signings are huge. we are going to be moving into a 3-4 d for next year and needed two bigger DEs. now you will see jason taylor next year at linebacker.

patrick surtain is rumored to be moving soon, the top team in contention are the seahawks. we will most likely get a 1st or 2nd for him, as no one believes in a ''shut down cb'' anymore because of the pussy rules that have been set in since indy complained last year about NEs secondary.

there are very very rampant rumors of the edge coming to the phins for surtain. just today someone mentioned a rumor about us trading jason taylor for the edge, but i doubt that will be happening.

expect to see patrick surtain gone within a week or two, and possibly edgerrin in a dolphins uniform. :)

Tony Brown is free - unless he's already signed some where else... I have been to busy to keep up the past week or so. He would be a great addition to any offense.

Interesting. I think Miami is setting up nicely to play New England and New York.

But.. Who's gonna be their QB?

AJ Feeley...he has potential. We are bringing in Gus Ferrorte to back up, since he knows Linehan's system.

Forgot to mention, David Boston is likely to be released. Will save us 3.16m of the cap.

The Colts slapped a franchise tag on Edge and seem very committed to keeping him. The Dolphins already had a killer defense. Now they are shaping up to be downright scary. All they need is a decent HB and they could definately be a playoff threat next year.

Indy will trade Edge if the price were right.

Personally I think he's overrated and a lot of his yardage is due to Peytons Godly play actioning.
Edge seems to fuck up with the fumble, or by going out of bounds late in the game. He is not a clutch player.

Miami should've nabbed Blaylock.

I dont see the fish overtaking the Patriots. They may finish ahead of the Jets and ahead of the Bills for sure.

wtf.... I don't think so. The Bills should do well - at least better than the Dolphins.

Not with Losman or Holcomb. 9-7 is about as good as it'll get for the Bills.

Miami will not do Jack with Feeley as their QB.

That's my point - 9-7 is still better than what Miami can pull off with what they currently have.

Is Miami considering drafting or signing a FA QB?

Feeley isn't the problem. It's the succession of turnstiles on their O-line that's killing their offense.

Feeley also isn't the solution. He's actually a downgrade from Fiedler. Weaker arm, happier feet, and less pocket savvy.

Miami should sign Jeff Garcia and draft a good young stud QB.

If you would watch the Dolphins games, as I do, you would know that AJ Feeley is a much better QB than Fiedler. Feeley has a stronger arm than Donovan McNabb. Our offensive line is horrible. That is what it hurting us. Everyone was playing out of position. Feeley also did not have much experience, which will hurt a QB especially with a crappy o line. Miami is not going to contend this year. Our coaching staff is practically all new, and do adjust to it in a year and win is tough. We will most likely go .500 this year, but who knows.

Feeley is the future. He has a cannon for an arm, he just needs some experience and a good o line.

Arm Strength is the most overrated QB attribute in the NFL.

We'll see how Feeley does.

I dunno, Lyion, just look at the Hall of Fame career that Jeff George, one of the strongest-arm QB's EVER had.

Oh, wait....

Remember when all the analysts were saying how much better Ryan Leaf was than Peyton Manning because of his massive cannon arm?

George actually had a career, despite never living up to his potential.

Actually I thought he did, but I was wrong. His scouting report shows he has a good arm, but why was he throwing all those ducks last year?

From what I've read he is not mobile, and against the Blitz happy AFC East that could be his doom. Buffalo and New England will be coming after him.

when you dont have time to throw, and you need to scramble around (he is not mobile) it will hurt your throws, which was why he threw some ducks.

dolphins need to go from shot gun more often and do more PA to protect him. when we went from the shot gun last year, which we rarely used, he felt more comfortably and made better throws.

They are most likely going to get Gus Frerotte or Brad Johnson.

Interesting off season moves. Damn, I'm already ready for fooootball.
