Summary: Mexican President Vicente Fox has a problem with some measures Americans are taking to try to stem the tide of illegal immigrants. This quote in particular bugs me “No country that is proud of itself should build walls. No one can isolate himself these days."

His people are fleeing Mexico in droves and he has the gall to talk about national pride?

Actually, Fox has done about as much as possible in that political environment. Mexico is so corrupt, it's not even funny. I am not sure what Fox is looking for in this exchange but I would say that it may not have anything to do with immigration.

I kinda have to agree with that.

I have grudging respect for the Mexican immigrants. They aren't, typically, a bunch of free loading shits that come here and then just soak up free benefits while complaining about poor treatment. They work hard (again, stereotypically) doing shit work. Some make a real life for themselves here. I wish they would take the legal path to citizenship or at least gets cards, but they aren't just sucking our country dry while giving nothing back.

I have to agree here. Did you know that it is common for four to rent a small apartment, and they send home their whole pay checks everyweek to their families? They make just enough to live off of. They also save like crazy. The 4 will pitch in enough until one has enough money to buy a nice vehicle. THen it's the next person's turn, etc etc

*EDIT* Forgot to add that maybe we can leave the hard working Mexicans alone, and go after Americans who mooch and milk off the system, send them somewhere.

The solution is simple. Instead of spending money on fences and border patrol agents; we take that money and buy buses. Then, any immigrant that makes it to America's Southern border can be whisked north to Canada's Southern border and the open arms of a socialist nation. Why should the USA have all the fun? Besides, Canada could use a little more diversity.

The Mexicans weren't making good use of their land, either. Since the Apaches would flay the skin off of every European they caught (while they were still alive and kicking, mind you... it's the only way to kill a White Demon, in their opinion), Mexicans weren't too keen on settling north of Sonora. There were very few Mexicans living in California when the Americans took over.

The construction industry is in complete shambles in southern California. The unions are powerless against the onslaught of illegal immigration, and the contractors are hiring mostly non-union carpenters, plumbers, electricians, pipefitters, etc. while work quality goes down the tubes.

I was at a club one night in Murrieta watching a band play. Inbetween sets I struck up a conversation with this guy who happened to be a contractor in Temecula. I told him that I was waiting for the union to call me, and that I was ready, willing, and able to go to work. He laughed and told me "Good luck dude." He said, "I only hire the Mexicans because they work for 10 bucks an hour."

Union Journeymen carpenters make about 27-28 bucks an hour on average, and on big prevailing-wage jobs you can make as much as 35-40 bucks an hour. The illegal Mexicans have screwed up the construction industry because they are willing to work for a fraction of what it costs a trained professional to do the job.

The contractors who hire illegal immigrants "undocumented aliens" are just as guilty for the downfall of the construction industry. I think the Federal government should step in and do a weekly sweep of every single construction project in America. If any illegal or "undocumented" aliens are found on the site they should be arrested and deported, and the contractor should be arrested and stripped of his contractor's license and never be allowed to work in the construction industry again. Enough is enough already. Illegal aliens have stolen food off the plate of the American worker for too long now. Drastic measures need to be implemented ASAP.

Viecente Fox is a criminal.

No offence but it's not workers fault. I deal with same shit on daily basis in my store. When people or businesses buy flooring with installation from me, I got a choice of ether hiring Union workers or contractors. Contractor will charge $2 a sq.ft. on a 200s.f. job and do it in under 5 hrs for total of $400 cuse he used 3-4 mexican or arab helpers; union guy will charge $30 an hour take breaks, and do a job in 2 8hr days for total of $480. Now store made $80 less in proffit and lost a day. If it was commercial job, they just plain won't take your bid with unionised workers cause they know it will cost more and take twice as long.
So residential customers don't want union guys cause no one wants his home being worked on for more than few hours; and comercial(including gov. accounts) just won't take the bids.
Moral of the story is: WORK FASTER FOR LESS MONEY
