Patch tomorrow

Post by Arlos »

3/22, after the scheduled maintenance, which is supposed to run 2 hours long, cause of server-side work related to the patch.

Word on the grapevine is that the patch is going to be just shy of 90 megs or so.

I doubt anyone will be able to play at all tomorrow.

Anticipate huge amounts of lag.

I actually got really good download speeds this time for the patch. Was running at > 120k, took me well less than 15 minutes to download the patch. Dunno everyone else's results, but from my viewpoint at least, they seem to have greatly improved the patch system.

The lag on patch day has always been unplayable. I doubt tonight will be any different.

Well, it would help if the servers would actually come up...

A bug has been discovered in the latest patch that is causing players to be disconnected from certain realms. After these players are disconnected, they are unable to log back in to that realm. To apply a potential fix, the realms that are currently live must be restarted. In addition, realms that are still down for the patch will not be brought up until the fix is applied. We will begin restarting the affected realms shortly.

My server got a swift kick in the nuts, and has yet to get back up. :(

I'm able to play just fine. I downloaded the patch in about 15 minutes. I have had to tweak some UI stuff - but beyond that, I'm fine.

Sorry you guys are having problems.

The new warrior stuff rocks. Thunderclap now has usefulness, battle shout doesn't cost more rage than it's worth, and heroic strike packs a proper punch in the gut.

I'm pleased.

Server came up within 5 minutes of my post. Figures.

Played around in Dire Maul a little bit, but I just got booted. Now I can't get back into the server. I can log in like normal, but as soon as it goes to connect to server, it disconnects... Realm status says up, if that's to be trusted.

Hope it wasn't just me. Hate to leave my guildies hanging like that.

Turned out my whole group got booted, but nobody else in the guild had experienced it.

Maybe they decided to pull the plug on Dire Maul, because the loot drops were too good :P
Within the first two kills we had a Traveler's Backpack and a Heartseeking Crossbow drop (just dumb luck, I'm sure, since the trend didn't keep up, but it was pretty amazing).
