not sure anyone mentioned this.. cause i don't feel like reading all the posts

i saw a few interviews and heard some news reports that.. suspicious things surround this whole thing. From mysterious needle marks on her when the last person with her was her husband to him coming into nurses offices askin "is the bitch dead yet", to the absolute glee and speed people are tryin to kill her, and the fact if she dies her husband gets 1.something million dollars from a malpractice suit.

And i heard that ass of a husband of hers on larry king (i think it was) sayin starving her isn't starving at all.. and is completely painless. Try sayin that when she isn't shoved full of morphine... and tell that to Africa's starving people. I guess if its not painful, why should we send tons of food over there? Why are the poor her complaining?

This guy is a fuckin dick. If i was a judge i would say .. "ok you wanna kill your wife ok, but you get NONE of the money from the suit." watch how fast he plugs her back in.

So you looked into these reports or did you just take them at face value?

He has already turned down offers of $10m if he would drop the case. He is not interested in money.

Don't confuse a prejudiced person with facts, Tossica. It's not nice.

He has turned down so much money it is ridiculous, I honestly believe he is acting on what he thinks his wife would want for herself if she could speak up in this situation.

well you have a nurse saying stuff about him doing shit... if a person that worked there isn't a good enough source.. why are you believing the 10 million.. which is the FIRST i have heard of that.

There is also funds and other things. There is also the fact he wanted her dead so his marriage with the OTHER wife is legal.

glad you guys take everything at face value.

And Rust just cause your a fuckin moron.. no reason to take it out on everyone else.. seeing as the main thrust of what i said was he is suspiciously wantin her to die. But your brain is SOOO small.. you can't get that.

For those still doubting her brain state, was listening to the radio news, and they were interviewing a Doctor who'd examined her first-hand. Her EEG is *FLAT* It ever shows ANY sign of ANY electrical impulses from anything beyond the brain stem, no matter what stimuli she was subjected to. There's nothing there. That's why the removing the feeding tube doesn't bother me. There's no brain there to react to any of the hunger/thirst related nerve impulses, so there's no sensation of pain.

I would say it boggles me that government would get involved, but with President Shrub at the helm, I'm sorry to say it doesn't surprise me in the least.

This case absolutely disgusts me. Her husband, the judge, and anybody else having any connection to removing her feeding tube should be indicted and tried for attempted murder. One of the doctors who examined her said that they are working with patients who are worse off than Schiavo is and they are making progress. A nurse witnessed Schiavo's husband going into her room in the hospice, closing and locking the door and then leaving 20 minutes later. She was suspicious of this so she examined Schiavo right after her husband left. The nurse found Schiavo sweating profusely and looking like she was very distraught. She also found needle puncture wounds under her breasts, and in her groin area, and found an empty vial of insulin in the garbage can. The insulin injection was totally unnecessary. When the nurse reported all of this to admin, they did nothing about it. Then she went to the police with the information and got fired the very next day.

I am utterly amazed that you leftist wackjobs don't understand what is going on here. It is unbelievable to me. But that's what keeps this board a constant source of entertainment for me... seeing the constant and consistent display of ignorance and stupidity posted by the liberals here. Freaking unbelievable.

That's a load of crap. I just heard from one of her primary physicians on the radio today that she was and still is responding to certain stimuli. That was from her own physician's mouth.

there WAS a million dollar malpractice suit

but after hospital bills and legal expenses it is down to about $50k

so no, i don't think it's about the money

(additionally, i find it entertaining how an unemployed ex-tweeker carpenter in california thinks he knows all the answers)

Coma and Persistent Vegetative State

A coma is a profound or deep state of unconsciousness. The affected individual is alive but is not able to react or respond to life around him/her. Coma may occur as an expected progression or complication of an underlying illness, or as a result of an event such as head trauma.

A persistent vegetative state, which sometimes follows a coma, refers to a condition in which individuals have lost cognitive neurological function and awareness of the environment but retain noncognitive function and a perserved sleep-wake cycle.

It is sometimes described as when a person is technically alive, but his/her brain is dead. However, that description is not completely accurate. In persistent vegetative state the individual loses the higher cerebral powers of the brain, but the functions of the brainstem, such as respiration (breathing) and circulation, remain relatively intact. Spontaneous movements may occur and the eyes may open in response to external stimuli, but the patient does not speak or obey commands. Patients in a vegetative state may appear somewhat normal. They may occasionally grimace, cry, or laugh.

yes people with PVS respond to certain stimuli... so do ameobas. while i understand christian viewpoint on this subject, wrong battle. the woman died 16 years ago its only her body thats still alive

I think her soul is gone. Think about it...would you want to be hanging around that way? Trapped in your body with people fighting over you, and god knows whatelse? Hanging around watching that what should have been your last request couldn't be carried out because a bunch of people seem to think they know what is better for you than you do?

Personally, I wouldn't want to live that way, I would have moved on years ago, even if just in spirit.

The appeals court seems to agree, and has denied a request to reinsert the feeding tube.

Lets see if our government can trample on the consititution some more. Maybe if the Supreme Court says no, W can send in the 101st and claim it was in the name of 'life'.

Plants will respond to lights and other stimuli as well. Doesn't mean they have a brain. This is WHY it's called a 'persistant vegetative state'. She's permanently a plant.

Saw video of her last night. She was smiling and moving her head following the doctor. She is DISABLED. Again, why punish all who are disabled. If her "husband" cared so much about her, then why did he shack up with another woman and have two kids. This to me is adultry, her parents should file for a divorce on their daughters behalf, and take over care of their daughter, and do as they seem fit. IMO, he gave up any say when he moved in with another woman.
