Apparently they ripped off their entire story of The Matrix from a manuscript this woman had shown them from an ad they placed in 1983 for new sci-fi stories.

She won her case in court but didn't get any media coverage for the simple fact that AOL-Time warner owns the media itself.

That's the filing. What is true is that on September 27, 2004, US District Court Judge Margaret M. Morrow made a preliminary ruling that the RICO element of the suit would not be thrown out on purely legal grounds, though some of the charges were dropped against Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox.

Nothing has been decided yet.
