Character Transfer

Is it possible to do a character transfer if you aren't the original owner?

You have to give original CC numbers or the last 4 (last I heard)

Or an address of the original person billed.

Etc. etc.

Some slackass GM's let you get by with original CD keys.

You have to be able to convince the CSR that you are the original owner.

They will ask you for the secret question, the first and last 4 digits of the original billing credit card, the original email address, teh billing address... however, when I recently reclaimed my old account, I only had one of them (the billing address), however, by producing two other credit card numbers which were billed against as well as other email addresses that had been used on the account, I had proven my identity well enough that the CSR helped me out.

Will any of them do the same thing for you? Maybe, maybe not.

Character transfers are a little different though... you do them through an online form - not through a phone call (typically). They expect you to be able to answer the requested questions regarding account information or your request is automatically kicked out of the system. You can then call up CS and try to talk it out with them - but they will redirect you to the website to submit a correct request form. I went through this when the billing addresses for the credit card I wanted to use didn't match the account ownership address for my g/f's account when we transferred her character to another server. I eventually forced one of the guys in CS to talk to me and I managed to straighten it out with him... but you WILL need to have enough account info to prove identity.

Shortly after each merger is complete, we will allow all customers affected by a merge a one-time, complimentary character move to the server of their choice. For each customer with an account on a newly-merged server who requests such a move, all characters associated with that customer’s account will be transferred to the selected server. All characters will bring their items with them in the transfer.

Please make sure you are aware of your servers expected merge date and prepare accordingly. These dates are subject to change should we need to alter the timetable of merges. Should we need to change the dates we will post the new list with plenty of advance notice.
