Kind of hard to make any real judgement from a single frame.. no context for the shot (looks like she's inhaling sharply, or agonal breathing).

She has a slender, athletic build. Nothing unhealthy about that. Nice definition, but not cut like bodybuilder chicks (they creep me out). Low body fat, but retains feminine lines, instead of looking like a 12 year-old boy.

There's a pretty big difference between athletic and skinny, dessicated-corpse, heroin-addict waif.

Thin is in!
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

more talk about kung fu~~

I spent most of my childhood and highschool career wrestling. It was a fantastic teacher of discipline and mental training. I haven't really watched too much of UFC etc., what I have seen however is that a bunch of wrestling is involved. Is grappling the superpower of street fights? I'd like to think if I got in close on someone that it'd be game over due to my background. I haven't tried it an all out street brawl though, I don't get that angry. :dunno:

Almost all street fights turn into some sort of grapple. Thats the best bet to train in when learning about self defense.

Xaiveir - you're talking to a bunch of computer nerds who likely haven't played organized sports let alone gotten into any kind of street fight. They probably think it's like it was in grade school - throw a playground ball at another kid, then stand there and push each other while calling the other names for not "starting it".

i think it'd probably easy to seriously hurt someone with any kind of martial art form. the big difference i see lately is that people only learn them for a cheap self-confidence builder because they learned that if you hit someone in the throat, they might stop fighting you and you can say you used your cool new martial art move that you learned on someone. where the arts originated from however, i think it was much more of a spiritual journey that kind of consumed you. people fought with passion and total discipline and devoted their lives to it.

you're not going to be like that 35+year instructor if you just get your black belt because you went to aikido class every saturday, imo

We had whole classes devoted just to grappling techniques....

Uhh... what kind of Tae kwon do were you studying?

This website wrote:Q. I am told that taekwondo is not the most effective martial art when it comes to self-defence.
A. It is in my opinion true that if you want to practise a martial art purely for self-defence purposes, taekwondo might not be the martial art that you are looking for. Most street-fights end up on the ground, so in that case you want to practise a martial art that focusses on grappling.

That was the very first site that came up to a Google of "tae kwon do". I didn't bother going any further than that.

Perhaps the school I went to added it in on the side then, we always worked on grappling.

Kizzy, you don't have to interject your opinion, either... yet you seem to have your reasons for doing so.
