Here are the books that were added to the Bible. If your "Bible" has these books in it, then it is not the "Holy Bible." What you have is a book that has been desecrated by certain individuals, by adding into the Bible what should not have been there to begin with:

Those are just the chapters... the names of the Chapters are what's important. Pick a book from the Bible and start reading if just for a few minutes each evening before you turn out the lights. It's actually quite addictive. The Bible is fascinating and has several juicy stories in it. :P

My recommendation is to start from the beginning of the Old Testament... with the book of Genesis.

Lyion is right. Learn Latin. Apparently the Romans said that the only bibles that were allowed to be read were the originals in Greek, Aramean(Aaramaic), and Latin. A bible in any other language is technically considered inaccurate.

The reason it's those three languages is that it was believe that Jesus spoke those languages, as his name was engraved in all three languages at the top of the orthodox cross he was nailed to, which looked a bit different than the average cross that comes to mind nowadays.

What a shame you have to read a shredded version of it, with so many mis translations and mis representations.

Your research has misinformed you. I suggest you learn Latin first. Second you work to become humble and charitable, giving time and working to be Christlike. It's apparent to anyone here you do neither of those things.

You may have done minimal research, but you have not gained wisdom and your soul is in danger. What a pity. I fear you will realise your error too late, but that is your own choice.

Also, might I suggest putting down your bible and working in a soup kitchen, a hospice, or another way of aiding your fellow man. But if you had done heavy research, you would already be doing these things. Somehow I doubt it, as does everyone else here.

You see, the difference between us besides the fact I know more about the bible than you because I've read it in Latin, is that I also 'ACT' in a Christian manner. That does not mean merrily reading your Bible for 30 minutes after writing a scathing hate filled piece of rhetoric here, then going nighty night, then indeed you are headed for damnation.

Likewise, being 'good' to your friends and neighbors is not an act that grants you the keys to heaven any more than 'mindlessly being born again'. By your beliefs 'false' premise, if Hitler decided to become born again in the final 15 minutes if his life, he'd get in the pearly gates. I'm sorry if your simplistic fundamentalism carries an apparent false flag to any who have had faith much longer than you, and especially those of us who selflessly work without vanity or pride in our religion, as God would want.

Go speak to a Jesuit if you seek to really understand religion.

Ganzo, what is your view on ancient Jewish texts not written in Hebrew? What is your opinion on the Essenes and the Dead Sea Scrolls?

I've been led to believe Hannukah is derived from non Hebrew written ancient Jewish texts. How does that hold within the teachings of the synagogues?
