Check out the menu. A friend of mine tells me the 800 number works. You get a recording that thanks you for calling Horseys.

ugh...

Made me think of Chable immediately.. every time we pass a horse he talks about how he'd like to taste horse meat because it seems like it would be so low in fat..

There's no way that's real, it doesn't even give a location other than maybe it's in "Raleigh."

Well, out of curiosity I called the number. It states they are opening restaurants in several cities including Raleigha and Atlanta and asks for people interested in working there to leave a name and number.

Not convinced it's not a hoax tho...

There are just too many things about it that don't add up. It gives a list of "breed choices," but Palomino is a color of horse and a Pony is a size of horse. It lists some breeds that are rarely sent to the slaughter, and doesn't list racehorse breeds that often are (Thoroughbred and Standardbred).

If it's real, I doubt it stays in business long. Americans wouldn't even want to go to a pork house with pictures of smiling pigs and dishes like "Wilbur Burger" or "Green Acres Salad." You're going to have every 12 year old girl crying hysterically as they pass the place.

Probably inspired by the real life goings on of Ranchers getting the Feds to get rid of wild horses that are competing with thier livestock on public lands.

Once the horse activist run out of cash most will end up dinner in another country.

Horses have the same problems as cats and dogs, there are too many that are unwanted (retired racehorses, neglected horses, PMU horses, and now wild horses). Rather than going to animal shelters, they are sent to the slaughter house. I read somewhere that all horse slaughterhouses in the U.S. are foreign owned, not sure if that's true though.
