Sheffield tangos with Red Sox fan...

Where everyone discusses football, and two dorks try to pretend people actually like the NBA and spam what should be in PMs.

Sheffield tangos with Red Sox fan...

Post by Tadpole »

Just saw this breaking news on ESPN. I have not seen any pictures or video of it. Anyone see it yet? Just says a fan punched him when he was chasing down a ball that dropped in the outfield near the seats... :dunno:

I saw it and sheffield is a fucking faggot.

That fan didn't even come CLOSE to touching him. He completely flipped out.

This was blown out of proportion. Instant replay showed the fan was either reaching for the ball and/or swiping at Sheffield. Personally, I think he was reaching for the ball. Sheffield cocked back but did not throw a punch. Was a good game to watch even though Yanks lost.

P.S. Bandwagon fans need not respond>Harrison!

There are two ways to look at it.

1. What if someone attempted to punch you in a cheap manner? How would you respond? Exactly.

2. He is a professional at what he does, he should not have faught back or attempted to. I don't think he really punched him back, just shoved him.

Sheffield is having some 'roid rage from his cream he used, that's all. Nothing unusual. He always busts out in 'roid rage when an ump makes a border-line strike call on him.

I someone tried to punch me in a cheap manner, I would take it like a man and shrug it off.

So if you were walking down the street, and a stranger just walked up to you from behind and clobbered you with his fist, sinking into your back, causing excruciating pain and pissing ya off, you would shrug it off and keep walking? From all of your other posts about calling people pussies, you seem like you would want to fight the fucker who did it and attempt to beat their ass. :dunno:

No, if someone walked up behind me and out of nowhere punched me in the back (fucking ouch!)

I would turn around defensively and try to find out what the fuck is going on before anything.

I am NOT a violent person...anything but...

I've been punched shitloads of times and not hit back. I am above that...

I defend myself when necessary, pride is worthless.

I call people pussies because they are obviously fake. So blatantly 100% fake it turns my stomach to think people use the internet to fluff up their personalities to a bunch of people they don't know.

Good question, Aquaman...

Well... If someone "attempted" to punch me and missed and backed off - I wouldn't try to further instigate the situation. Why? Because the legal issues that would arise. If he tries and misses and then backs off and you go for him - YOU are the one in the wrong and will end up either spending time in jail, paying a fine, paying his medical bills, or a combination of the three. However, if someone tried and missed, then tried again I would lay the smack down in the name of self defence.

If someone took a cheap shot at my wife/girlfreind/whatever - then there would be no question - it'd be on.

He had no NEED to fight back. He was on the field and the fan was in the stands... unless the fan jumped out of the stands onto the field and chased him - he had no reason to retaliate with physical force.

I think that is the best way to handle it imo. Really the two times I have been in fights during a sports game were both me being the trouble maker starting it, and I can honestly look back and say I was being an idiot for serious.

The whole incident is just stupid.

1 The fan shouldn't have had their hand in play. Yes we all know everyone does it but it shoudln't have been there.

2. Sheffield should have walked away without a 2nd thought. I mean come on, he is a yankee in Boston. Of course the fans are going to be hositle. Boston and NY fans alike can be thje best and the worst fans around. The players should all understand that and just walk away. Let security take care of it. If the fan was on the field it would have been different but he was in the stands.
For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.

It didnt look too bad.
It could have been alot worse.
though hearing the announcers and commentators they expect players to jump in the stands these days and any one not doing so is showing restraint?

I think that is pretty sad.

ya that 1 ring is really showing them... I mean the one world series flag dwarfs the 26 at yankee stadium now...

Seriously, I hate the yankees but red sox fans are just idiotic now with their commentary.
