THC - Laidback Herbal Guild NOW RECRUITING!

Post by Topecin »

Greetings Tavernites,

We used to be a Velious guild, but that didn't quite work out, so now we're removing all the rules, and anyone can join. We will still raid Velious targets, but we will not limit ourselves to old expansions only.

We will start raiding soon (as a casual raiding guild, not hardcore) and are looking to recruit a little more before we start. In the meantime I'll be smoking my hookah. :crackhead:

If you feel like joining The Honorable Council, visit us on the web or contact an officer in game. Some officers are:

Topecin
Doorbreaker
Singu
and QqKittensoopowa

Website is:

~--THC--~ http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?G ... bID=268762

You can join with an Alt if you don't want to tag your main; at the moment we are recruiting all levels.

We have currently not decided yet whether to allow augments or charms. Waiting to get a sense of how the guild members (and officers) feel about this issue.

Why not allow new items, but stick to raiding older content in progression?

Do that and my rogue is in!

i think limiting the players exp options while not in guild situations is a lil silly, and not bein able to wear gear thats after Velious is a big inconvenience... reconsider those options and im sure there would be a ton of people down for this kinda thing. i'd certainly consider playing EQ again, i was just gettin started when velious was released so i only got read about all the cool shit on the los site :-x

no, im not. but guilds dont raid 24/7, nor do they play together 24/7. i wouldnt want to sit around with nothing to do cause my guild leader doesnt think i should play in any of the expansions past velious. i wouldnt be too fond of having to downgrade my gear to join the guild either. im sure most people would agree.

i think its a great idea, to raid the old zones and progress through the game again. just gotta be somewhat realistic with your expectations from people.

maybe its just me :dunno:

I was going to join with an alt. Play my main during the day, alt at night to raid and maybe group after to keep the levels going.
Since all my alts are currently powertwinks, I was going to start from scratch so there is no chance of me twinking it with something I shouldnt or having to look up every spare piece of gear to make sure it is from a certain expansion.

I think the idea to this is great. What fun would it be, what challange would it be to take down Kunark dragons at lvl 70 with Time gear and 400 AAs. And while the 'challenge' is gone, knowing the strats to the mob, it would be fun with little HP and dinky mana pools, close fights and battle rezzing. I'm all excited now. Someone hose me down.

if you could use equipment from further expansions it'd ruin the whole premise. the equipment post-velious is so much better than anything velious and below that you'd be able to raid ToV with a couple groups or go and kill vindicator with four or five people like you can now. it just doesn't make any sense that way. the point of the guild is to emulate EQ in its golden era. allowing the members to get AA is almost too much, in my opinion, because it makes your character extremely more powerful than anyone in velious era ever was.

do you see the point of the guild? it's to raid and play in old world content and at the same time be able to keep an element of challenge because you aren't wearing equipment with +150hp and +20 all stats in each slot.

I would have loved to have tried plane of sky, pre-kunark

it'd be interesting to see how far 4 groups could get now, at lvl 50, with original EQ only SPELLS AND GEAR

jeje

might make people appreciate the skill of the original hard core raiders a bit more

Fires of Wrath did it often. The Second Island was an absolute major pain in the fucking ass.

We made it to Island four, pre Kunark. No spoilers from other guilds, no batphone.

Fear the old school EQ interface. Old School FOW people there too.. Barn/Morg, Kanaman, Nizz, Miraje, etc..

I believe we made it to Island 4 before LOS did. Sky was still ass back then and not worth the pain that it was to do anything.

Sirran the Mad still is the most pwn MMO character of all time, though.

Tikker, I think Triton was the first guild that finished Sky and I'm not certain if it was before or after kunark. For some reason I think it was before because I don't recall seeing mention any lvl 60 folks in screen shot and posts, etc.

I'm pulling this from memory back in the day when I used to frequent all the "uba" boards :p so don't flame me if I'm all wet
