I dont believe in Heaven or Hell.
But I used to. What I thought of was I die and see all my departed friends. We have a great time, it's never dark (I hate the dark) I eat cashews all day. I do all my favorite things, see my favorite people. I didnt think of Heaven as a big city. I thought of it as a very long dream. I think people would revert to whatever age they were happiest, whatever season they loved, as it would be their very long dream.

When we die we are reabsorbed back into a single universal consciousness that is reality. All the experiences and knowledge we acumen carry on with us. In this way we realize that everyone we have ever met, loved, hated, or other, are in fact facets of ourselves.
That or you see the people you liked ridding along with you on the back of the great turtle that carries the Earth while Kali dances in the background. Who knows.
Kinda sucks that the only way to really find out is a one way ticket. On a similar note I wonder how they found out cyanide tastes like almonds…

"Liberals believe government should take people's earnings to give to poor people. Conservatives disagree. They think government should confiscate people's earnings and give them to farmers and insolvent banks. The compelling issue to both conservatives and liberals is not whether it is legitimate for government to confiscate one's property to give to another, the debate is over the disposition of the pillage."

Prove me wrong. Any guess about what happens to your consciousness after you die is just that, a guess.
I can very easily accept the possibility that 2000 years or so ago a group of uneducated mud hut dwellers figured out life the universe and everything. Semi literate farmers and fisherman wrote it down in a series of stories written at different times by different people, and then it was translated several times by many other people. And miraculously, at the period of time we have decided to call 2005 it’s exactly correct. It outlines everything that happens after you die in one neat package.
Sure, this very well could be the case. I don’t doubt the possibility for a second.
I however believe we have not figured it all out yet; that there is a lot more to the universe still left to be uncovered.
