Here's what they are talking about. Yes, the SDA church believes that the antichrist will rise out of Europe and will be associated with the Roman Catholic Church. The RCC will revere this new leader as Christ, and by so doing, will have millions of followers who will believe that. They will then pass a sunday "law" where everybody will have to go to church and worship on Sundays only. This new leader will be very charismatic, and will be able to perform "miracles" which of course will be nothing but secret scientific technological breakthroughs as they apply to medicine. People will see these "miracles" for the first time and that will strengthen their belief in this false messiah. People who know the truth, and who will refuse to worship on Sunday, will be sought out and destroyed.

The Bible says that there is only one way Jesus will return to earth, and this is the same way that He left... in the sky.

I dont disagree that younger people tend to have a more liberal viewpoint. I was disagreeing with mindia not being able to understand how somone over 25 could be a liberal because there are countless liberals out there over 25.

Unnecessary abortions are evil. Man laying down with another man is evil. So, in summation... abortion and sodomy are evil acts. Protection of abortion practices and sexual orientation are typically liberal responses. Therefore, one can logically deduce that liberalism is tantamount to evilness. It doesn't get any clearer or easier than that to understand. You can fight it all you want. But, some day you will agree and you will look back at your previous thought processes and laugh.

I hate to break it to you but I will never see gays as evil, and I highly doubt I will see all abortions as evil either.

I have many gay friends whom I think no less of for the way they live their lives. If thats not the way you want to live, thats fine but dont try and live their lives for them.

Abortion also has its place. Should it be used as a form of birth controle, hell no. It has though saved a whole lot of lives from being ruined. If you dont want to have an abortion dont, again dont live other peoples lives for them. Making abortion illegal would cost alot of people their lives because it will still happen, just in horrible conditions and under horrible circumstances.

This however is not a discussion about gays or abortion.

Religion is a control mechanism. Without the idea that some omnipotent, omnipresent being is watching and judging their every action, some people just don't have the internal control to live a normal productive life. Take Minda for instance, before he found the cult of the SDA he spent most of his time in a self destructive cycle with methamphetamines.

Through religion he has picked up an instant self appointed right to judge everyone else as being lesser than himself. Belittling others, in his mind, makes him better. So he has traded he crutch of drugs for the crutch of Christ. But hey, crutches aren’t a bad thing if you’re a cripple with no internal ability to self control.

But enough about religion.

The definition of "Liberal" Gidan posted is not what the self named "Liberals" in American politics are doing today. The self named "Liberals".... and the "Conservatives" for that matter... are both concerned with one thing only. Expanding the power and control of the government. Because a person is a government official does not make them any more competent, or honest, than the CEO of a company. The difference is if a social program is run by the government vs. a private company, you don't have the option not to participate. A great example is Social Security. I don't want to be involved with it, but I have no choice in the matter. If the Social Security program was run by a private company and it had been run into the state that it is in today... I guarantee you would see the executives going to court and getting prison sentences right behind the Enron and Global Crossing executives. But because it’s run by nameless faceless bureaucrats, we keep on paying into the scam.
"Liberals believe government should take people's earnings to give to poor people. Conservatives disagree. They think government should confiscate people's earnings and give them to farmers and insolvent banks. The compelling issue to both conservatives and liberals is not whether it is legitimate for government to confiscate one's property to give to another, the debate is over the disposition of the pillage."

Hold up there sparky... My meth use spanned a time period of approximately 2 years, if that. And also, I only did it about a total of 20x in that 2 year period. I didn't have a problem with addiction, nor did I have to go to rehab. I was always in control of myself. I was just one of the unfortunate people who's body reacted in a very negative way after being up for 72 hours straight one time and I passed-out stone cold and woke up in the hospital. The doctor told me that a valve could have gone out on me because my heart was beating so fast. But they gave me valium and got my heart rate back down to normal range. They did an EKG and found out that there was no damage whatsoever to my heart or anything.

If you knew anything about methamphetamine, and this includes Brinstar, who likes to point out this bad event in my life after I volunteered to talk about it openly (thinking I would be talking to mature adults... /cough) you'd know that 2 years of off and on use is not going to turn anyone's brain into "swiss cheese" as he so eloquently claims. I would be willing to wager that at 38 years old, I'm in just as good of shape, if not better, than 99% of the people on the NT. The only one who can hold a candle to me shape-wise is probably Dana (Mop).

Now moving onward and upward...

I sincerely hope that when you label the SDA church as a "cult" that you mean it affectionately. Cult defined in the dictionary is: 1. A formal religious veneration, and 2. A religious system. So, I take it you knew that and you weren't trying to use the term "cult" as a negative descriptor of a "weird" Christian denomination, because if you were... I would have to conclude that you've never stepped inside an SDA church, or you wouldn't be saying such things.

Now, you went on to say this gem:

Through religion he has picked up an instant self appointed right to judge everyone else as being lesser than himself. Belittling others, in his mind, makes him better. So he has traded he crutch of drugs for the crutch of Christ. But hey, crutches aren’t a bad thing if you’re a cripple with no internal ability to self control.

That is so freaking stupid and wrong that it exemplifies a true "moronic" post. And to think... I used to actually feel that Scoota had somewhat of an IQ. Boy, was I wrong.

But at least you did say one thing right in your post, and that was:

The definition of "Liberal" Gidan posted is not what the self named "Liberals" in American politics are doing today. The self named "Liberals".... and the "Conservatives" for that matter... are both concerned with one thing only. Expanding the power and control of the government. rofl ... I bet I could smoke in any event you name.

As for the rest of the posters here - you have absolutely NO idea of what shape anyone is in - unless they've just posted a recent pic, or have come out and admitted they are out of shape.

There are a ton of health minded people on this board - most of which do work out on a regular basis. Damn man, is there anything you don't think you're better than the rest of us at? Want to tell me how to isolate and clone a gene now? You probably think you're better at it than me.

I think he hit the nail right on the head there. You are constantly judging people based on your own view of the world, and being as you are so great in your own view, everyone else is subpar. You are constantly belittling others who dont take your view on life. You seem to think that you for some reason are so high and mighty that you can tell people how they should live their lives and that if they dont think like you that they are wrong and a lesser person then yourself. If you need an example of this, how about

Pride goeth before a fall...
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

If someone doesnt believe in the Bible, then it doesnt matter if his beliefs are going against it. The Bible to these people are like Mother Goose Fairy Tales books.

I don't believe in the bible but last I checked, murder was pretty evil.

Arguing the semantics of it being "legal" and not murder is a waste of time, don't bother. In that case just call it legal killing and get it over with.

I couldn't care less about homosexuality.
