CISCO console interface

Postby Tossica » Tue Apr 26, 2005 10:53 am

Any CISCO gurus have experience with USB/DB9 serial adapters? I bought one because my laptop doesn't have a serial port on it. I can connect to the console but it doesn't seem to be emulating correctly. CR and several other keys don't work properly.

There shouldnt be any change with the adapter going through USB. Do you have your terminal settings setup correctly? What terminal emulation are you using?

It should work in a VT 100 or 220 setting.

Maybe try setting your databits to 7? I'd tweak the terminal settings and see if it fixes the problem. I think thats the culprit.

I'll fiddle with it a bit more but I might be better off looking in to a PCMCIA serial card or something...
