so i can finally log into wow....

I run around for 30 seconds kill 2 mobs and the rest of the game seems to stop talking to the servers... I have low latency but I can't activate attack or do anything, don't see any mobs...I can still run around and the game doesn't disconnnect me... WTF OVER?!

This better be a quick fix or i'm threw.

I have yet to see what the major bugs in WOW are from some of the bugs i saw in EQ.

Besides I'm not going to bitch for the price I'm getting this game and they're giving me free expansions. We would've had to pay 39.99 and pre-order the box if Sony implemented Dire Maul and Deathwings layer.

You aren't going to win this arguement with anyone. The MMOG industry has had YEARS to figure out how to make good games, solid servers and should know how to deploy the game initially with little to no problems.

Blizzards fucked up just as bad as original EQ at launch and was plagued with problems even 8 months after release.

By today's standards that is totally unnaceptable. I think that is the point everyone is trying to make here. Their shit stinked at launch and shouldn't have and was completely preventable.

What's really sad is that of all companies SOE seems to have learned from their lessons and fixed a great deal of the problems inherent with MMOG games and consequently PWNED Blizzard in the process.

As far as Diekan's comment I have to agree. The only games I will ever touch anymore are online FPS's.... Like Unreal Tournament, Battlefield etc.

FPS' get old sometimes rather quickly...

There is a point where you get so good at it that it becomes a bore sometimes to play. Good for a quick own here and there, not much more.

I look at them getting boring fast a plus... Quick enjoyment then play them once and again. It takes a hell of a lot less time than MMOG'ing, which is a very good thing.

People's major gripe with MMO's are that too many kids play and are annoying, and you suggest FPS's? ROFL. Talk about monotonous. I play about 6 hours a month anymore than that and I fall asleep.

MMOs are in depth pointless games.
FPSs are shallow pointless games.

I guess it depends what your poison is, and if you want to game 12 hours a month or a 120....

FPS's are usually addicting mothereffers. I can't tell you how many hours I've put into BF1942.

There are TONS of mods for the FPS's. You want to talk about monotonous? Sitting at a camp waiting for the some spawn hour after hour after hour killing the same thing over and over.

Obviously I like both or I wouldn't have played the FPS from when Quake I was the shit till now... nor would I have played EQ 1 for close to five years.

It depends on what you like... but you can't say that MMORPG's are anything but monotonous.

I can log into a Quake server and play for an hour... or I can log into EQ and be stuck for several hours... I perfer gaming for a short time and then doing other things like tweeking my system, going to the gym, going down town, amoung other things...

They both have their good and bad points. It just depends on what YOU like.

I'm pretty much done with the MMORPG's... I tried to come back to EQ1, but after a week - I just didn't want to play. I'd rather get a few frags and go out.

if you dont suck ass when playing FPS then do get a bit addictive.. got immediately addicted to CoD, played it from start to finish in about 12hours .. great game
