Spielberg's Answer to Gibson's Passion

Is this real, or is this b.s.? :dunno:

Spielberg's Answer to Gibson's Passion: I'm filming The Crusades

I'm told that hollywood mega-hit producer and director Steven Spielberg has decided to fight fire with fire. He's announced that, since Mel Gibson is fueling the fires of anti-semitism in the world with his movie about the last hours of . . . , Spielberg will make a graphic movie about the crusades."

"In order to get Jews and moslems to convert to christianity," Spielberg commented, "christians went through europe and into the middle east forcing conversions on non-believers. Along the way they raped, beat, bludgeoned, maimed, tortured and killed hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children. I will show christian brutality in a realistic and most graphic and gory way."

Spielberg went on to add that "the movie will have a well-deserved anti-christian tone. Lets face it, Gibson wants to blame the Jews for the death of one person we didnt even kill. I will show the inhuman brutality of thousands of christians against hundreds of thousands of people of other faiths, about which historically there is no ambiguity as to who is to blame."

Spielberg said that if this movie is successful, he is likely to follow it up with The Spanish Inquisition, a historical film on the torture and murder of the Jews of Spain by the catholic church.

To complete the trilogy, Spielberg announced, in 2006 I will be filming: Hitler and the Pope: A Team Formed in Hell. That should generate some heated debate.

I have just lost all respect for Steven Spielberg. What a childish, immature, ignorant, stupid, and selfish reason for making a movie.

First of all, Gibson's purpose for making the "Passion" movie was not to point the finger at the Jews and create an atmosphere of anti-semitism. That is just so unbelievably stupid, wrong, and ignorant to even think of such a thing.

If all this is true about Spielberg, and not just a sick joke, then I am now convinced that Steven Spielberg is an evil, ignorant man. That is all for now...

What's wrong with making a movie that shows more of the history of Christianity? Regardless of the purpose behind making "Passion," it did display too much negativity towards other religions. Films like these should be more neutral - allowing people to fully understand where each side is coming from, imo, but that is the responsibility of the writers and directors, and it certainly didn't help that Gibson is an overly religious nutcase.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Kingdom of Heaven... I have a feeling it will hold more of a neutral religious standpoint and hopefully will display what happened on both sides in a way that wont make you judge one as right and just, and the other as wrong and evil.

When it comes to faith and beliefs, no one can be wrong, because they are individual and are not made from facts.

I would like to argue this- as when I had sex with him he saw I was circumcised before it went any further he asked if I was jewish, when I said no he said WHEW continue.

Seriously who gives a crap whether or not Gibson hates Jews? If Speilberg made a movie about the Crusades, I'd probably go see it just like I went to see The Passion because , hey, I was bored, it was Friday night, and it was better than seeing some of the other shit that was out. Whats worse is people like Mindia that let this sort of stuff ruin their day. Speilberg doesn't sound ignorant to me at all, he is merely showing a different side of the story. How is having a different opinion on history being ignorant? I am Christian but I'm not gonna be like "OHHH SNAP HE DIDN"T!!" if he tries to stick up for some Jews. Isn't Christianity all about forgiving and loving eachother anyway? Why the grudge over all these years? Just go eat dinner, watch your CSI and go to bed for work the next day like everyone else ><

lol OmG you're missing the point again. It's the reason why Spielberg is allegedly working on this movie. We all know Christianity had a dark side to it at one time, but that's not what this argument is about... it's about a retaliatory movie in response to Gibson's "Passion." That is what I'm talking about. Sounds to me like Spielberg has a guilty conscience (although he shouldn't) and this is his way of lashing out irrationally. Just makes him look like an immature loser.

The purpose of the Passion was what, to show how Jesus died? To say, hey, Jews killed the good guy, that makes them bad! Well, not really... Technically, it's just playing out historical events... Nothing wrong with that, as long as people aren't stupid enough to believe and learn from what they see in movies. Oh, wait, they are... shit.

I don't see it as a retaliation, I see it as a telling-the-whole-story type of thing. I'm guessing Spielberg was offended by a movie that provoked a negative outlook of Jews as a whole, and believes in telling the whole story, more than what his own personal beliefs would prefer the world to see. That, if anything, makes me gain a large amount of respect for the man.

I was not the one who missed the point, you were the one who missed mine.

don't feel bad - I'll be joining you. I've spent more a couple of Sundays focused on some chicks ass instead of listening to the pastor.

Hitler and The Pope? You thought this was real? lol

And another thing. How come whenever I see these fake-ass emails pretending to be real, they are always from some angry right-wing, nationalistic, fundamentalist, conservative point of view?

Ok...here we go...where's your proof Spielberg is doing this? The only 'crusades' movie upcoming on IMDB is the one by Ridley Scott.

Some chainmail letter isn't proof. Did you even try and verify any of it before posting it and deciding Spielberg was Satan?
