Sadly, both models were doomed. By 1978, sales had slowed to a trickle and Cessna discontinued all versions of the model 177. Yet, the Cardinal RG is unquestionably one of the most undervalued airplanes in the inventory today. Possessed of an honest 143- to 145-knot cruise, the Cardinal RG offers wide doors for easy entry, a big cabin and plentiful plexiglas that allows excellent visibility in practically every direction.
