I am really lookin at this game more and more. Currently playing DAoC only for the PVP aspect of the game. I am wondering if the WoW honor system is really lookin cool, do you get abilities as you gain ranks? The armor looks sweet too, is it better than uber drop stuff, or roughly the same?
I am also wondering about things like RADAR, and still buggin on the Buffbot issue. Anyone who knows about DAoC would know what i am talking about. I want to know that WoW is not some place where people radar soloers or small groups with a larger force. I also want to know for sure that if i played WoW i would not need some buffbot account to make my toon more powerful in PVP.
In DAoC, there is something on healer classes called concentration. A healer casts buffs on someone and they stay on them til the healer or the buffed player dies, no matter where you go within the same zone. Are all buffs timed? Also are there any buffs that give someone a substancial increase in stats or some special ability that would give them the edge? If so, are these buffs rather short duration?
I think that is about all i can think of atm. I am lookin at several games that are due out by Xmas, but DAoC sucks so bad i need something to play until then.
How is the Honor System looking?

You don't get any special abilities or skills, but the special armor, equipment and weapons are kind of neat. You also get ranks like Scout, Private, Corporal, and Sergeant, etc etc. Those actually show as a title, like Baron or Baroness in EQ. There aren't as many stats to the gear, but does give you certain stats depending on your class that help in PVP, like Hunters get bonus agility, Mages stamina, etc etc. It all depends on your class though.
I don't know much about DAOC. But in WoW PVP, buffs help, but are not the most important part. When we go to raid the Horde, we take a good number of people, and you WILL die numerous times. It always seems to start like 5 vs 25 then when word gets out, more numbers come, and it evens out in the end.
Most buffs last about 30 minutes, but you will die in PVP before the 30 minutes is up. Mages cast a nice intellect buff which greatly increases mana, druids have a buff that give armor, +to all stats and resistances, and priests have a buff that directly increases your HPs.
They also have a nice ranking system that gets recalculated once a week.
I hope I answered some of your questions.
