Fantasia, Reuben Steudard and Kelly Clarkson have been the first 3 winners and they all released CDs and made some money. Clay Aiken is one of the non-winners who has done pretty well, there is one other female non-winner who released something, but I can't think of her name. This is my first year actively watching it, and it's not bad if you take it for what it is. It's reality TV no different than any other show in that it gives you exactly what you should expect from it, entertainment at face value. I don't vote, but I do watch it, and the guy is clearly after the publicity. He's a loser who knows if he can generate some buzz just days/weeks before his "album" release he may actually sell 10 copies instead of just 1 to mom and dad.

I heard this morning on the news that this season is the biggest season ever. It's hot now.

I'm like, not really no...Paul Abdul is just being called out by a guy she flirted with or fucked, or didn't, and who cares because the only reason it would matter would be if she would get fired because of a contract stipulation or something...but then she said she is leaving.

but come on, it's not like Paula has her singing and dancing career really

That show is complete utter shit. Its a marketing machine for Simon's record label. Always has been. Nothing fair about it. Just overproduced, unoriginal crap that Americans seem to eat up willingly. God even the name, 'American Idol' turns my stomach. Ugh.

I watch this the first week when they travel to different cities auditioning. After that, the really bad ones are gone so I dont watch.

I just like watching Simon be mean to the bad singers with attitude.
