Looking for groups that are still doing PoP progressons.

Postby Leadaira » Fri Apr 29, 2005 7:46 am

Have a 65 shaman that has completed PoJ and been flagged, and I have a 61 monk who did PoI and helped kill the Manaetic Behemoth and she got flagged as well. Im sure people are still doing the progressons in PoP because there is still alot of people asking me about it in the game.

If you know any group that is doing these please connect this 65 shaman and this 61, almost 62 monk please, named Sonjawind, and Sudancia.

I couldnt find a regular group or guild that was doing POP progression or anything, unfortunately.
I'd check after the merger, and moreso on the Innoruuk forums, although they aren't much better than here in actual EQ traffic.

FoF and Ascentia are backflagging for EPs. I do not believe either guild flags anyone except their own members and apps. There is a channel that does pickup PoP raids. If you ask around I'm sure you'll find out the channel.

It's not just about gogogo gotta win. It kind of sucks when you have people that are just using you for flags though, no? It's bad enough to have people that pretend to join the guild just to get that but then random people who just want to use you for flags to boot? I'm not entirely sure but I don't think too many guilds on the server do openly invite non members to flag raids...sometimes guilds help each other out, but I thought that was about it.

Yes, you should remain insular and push away all others. Its not like non guildies probably ever helped FOF, whoever they are.

Instead of being just another selfish group of assholes, why not start a trend of helping others?

But, but all other guilds are assholes, we want to be one too? Suit yourselves, but dont be surprised when people call ya what you are.

Say what you want. FoF has been a good guild who has on numerous occasions helped others out be it flagging or otherwise. I've seen an awful lot of people come and go, who have used for flags or gear, and it gets old. I didn't make the policy but I do agree with it. You want to talk selfish, talk the people who app with a guild get flagged and leave, who got raids done because they didn't have them. That's selfish. /shrug.

If you are killing the mobs anyway, I don't see what difference it makes who tags along as long as they listen and do what they are supposed to.

Why does it matter if people flag and leave for other guilds? Oh, because its about 'winning'?

Just another meme guild trying to win in a dying game, who are so worried about 'fairness' and personal selfishness that they push being insular probably at a result of ever being a truly fun and good guild.

Dont think I'm singling out FOF. I'm sure there are plenty of guilds like this who are so worried about the minutiae that they'll never be what they could be.

I certainly can see why people use guilds like this and leave. Perhaps if your leadership could, you wouldnt have that problem.

And I cant. Because there are just a handful of selfish guilds who are so busy trying to compete with the other dink guilds they are pushing away the casual members and forcing their few people trying to have fun to not login for fear of being chastised due to not 'attending' a mandatory raid that they could probably get help for from a casual person.

Its a vicious circle, clarice. Now, tell me about the lambs.

Guilds I was in didn't usually invite other people to raids for a few reasons.

1) We had people from guild that were competing with us for spawns, deguild and join our raid then leave and get retagged because they knew if we saw their guild tag we never would have let them in. Finally we just stopped taking them

2) We had guests wipe the raid on more then one occation because they didn't listen.

Not inviting morons is perfectly fine. Not inviting competing guildmembers is ok, but dicey.

Having an insular arrangement with an us against them mindset results in a lessening of the game and guilds becoming small little cults fighting viciously to hold on to their 'resources' which burns out the core players and makes the game less enjoyable for the community.

And yeah, EQ is nowhere the near the game it was, despite having massive content. Hopefully the Inny people are more into 'fellowship' than the antisocials here.

I will say that we did invite non guild members who were recomended by a guild member. If somone in the guild asked to ahve somone join us, we invited them to tag along as long as there was room.

We didn't want to flag people from guild who would later just train us to take a mob we had already started pulling.

As much as EQ was a social game, many guilds put themselves first and others next. If it would hurt the guild to flag an oposing guild, they probably wouldn't do it. If the other guild was to lazy to backflag, then its their fault not the fault of the guild who is spending the time backflagging. As for non guilded people, helping out the non idiots was fine with me.

If I knew the person and they were not an idiot, I invited them to join when I lead raids.

Gidan makes a lot of good points.

There are quite a few guilds who do have backflagging agreements with other guilds. So a lot do help each other out.

And I wouldn't have a problem with not inviting morons, however, where do you draw the line? Is it at officer's discretion? Then it might look like you're playing favorites, no? And then you have the possibility of up to x # of people saying can I bring so and so, they aren't a moron, and complaining if they are told no, or if the officers don't know that person and they let them along and they end up wiping a raid...

Truth be told, that could cause more problems than it's worth in a bigger guild.

And Lyion, I did group with you a couple times. Once you af'd without telling me and ended up over the cliff in PoN and the other time you complained that I sucked up your xp. Don't say you never find a group. :ugh:
