Mark of the Beast (666) is now 616?

Where more conventional versions of the Bible give 666 as the "number of the beast," or the sign of the anti-Christ whose coming is predicted in the book's apocalyptic verses, the older version uses the Greek letters signifying 616.

Well how about that?

Good. Maybe people wont look so crazy at us when we tell them our phone number (###)###-666#
We've had 666 in our number the past two times we've changed it.

A canadian newspaper writing about religion is akin to Mcdonalds employees writing about healthy eating.

OMG that movie frightened me. I still go to fast food about once a month for a treat for the kiddies. My youngest called everything Burger King. If we go to a steak restuaraunt and ask him if he wants grilled cheese or a burger he will say burger king. Its kind of cute.

They have a place here in New Orleans that sells deep fried cheeseburgers, from what I hear they take a completely made cheeseburger, dip it in batter and deepfry the piss out of it, the cholesterol count must be off the scale, but damn I bet it is good.

Is it true that coffins are placed above-ground in New Orleans' cemetaries because the water table is so high? I wonder if some of the older coffins may not be so air- tight, thus allowing the scent of decaying human flesh to emanate the surrounding air around the coffin.

Oh yeah, that would explain the graveyard during the acid sequence in Easy Rider.

Sith, that was a funny. Please lol accordlingly. Do not get offended at my bad jokes, unless you are Taxx.

Alan Mitchell, a theology professor at Georgetown University, said there's no reason the discovery should detract from the popularity of 666. "In my opinion, it doesn't change anything," he said. "The most reliable manuscripts have the number as 666. There's no reason to change the text of the New Testament, and there's no reason to change the tattoos."

This quote is better

The National Post quotes Elijah Dan, professor of philosophy and religion at the University of Toronto, as saying the new number won't likely have an impact in the popularity of 666.

"Otherwise, a lot of sermons would have to be changed and a lot of movies rewritten," he said with a laugh. "There's always someone with an active imagination who can put another interpretation on it. It just shows you that when you study something as cryptic and mystic as the Book of Revelation there's an almost unlimited number of interpretations."

That is Lafayette Cemetery, in the Garden District uptown, on the same block of Washington as Commander's Palace.

And yeah there is a famous acid trip scene in Easy Rider shot in a New Orleans cemetery.
