as to the post I had mentioned, I dont put much value behind it- when you have conditioned yourself to like a certain sex you would become attracted to the pharamones, at least I would think you would.

I just wanted to see it dismised with out a valid argument.

California belongs to the people, not a handful of ignorant activist politicians.

So did you have the same feelings when Clinton was impeached even though the majority of the people in this country didn't think he should? Americal belongs to the people not the politicians.

Where are you getting your info from? It was my understanding that most Americans were pissed off at Clinton for not only doing what he did in the Oval office with Monica Lewinsky, but lying about it under oath, and so most people did in fact want Clinton impeached.

What sources do you accept? I havn't been able to find any polls that show that the nation was in favor of the impeachment.

However, even if I could find 1. The overwhelming majority of the polls say that the people did not want it.

You also havn't commented on the fact that the people didn't vote in bush, the people voted for Gore.

He did say that. Furthermore, most of the poll sources you cited are very left-leaning organizations. Clinton himself may as well have been in charge of those polls.

Actually gore said

During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.

What he said was that he took the initiating, he didn't invent it. Gore actually had a leading role in assuring that the internet project of the time was kept under the National Science Foundation which would later create nsfnet which became the internet as we know it today.

The word invented was added by Dick Armey (Republican congressmen).

Vincent Cerf was quoted as saying
The Internet would not be where it is in the United States without the strong support given to it and related research areas by the Vice President in his current role and in his earlier role as Senator.

And if you dont know who Vincent Cerf is and why his quote might be relivent you might want to look him up a bit.

If those poll sources are not good enough, then what are some neutral sources that did polls and what were their results?

Venee: He went for Mindia Standard Option B, when he can't actually respond to the content of a post: he ignored it completely. Option A is to insult the author, Option B is to ignore it, Option C is to reply with a :dung: or some similar icon, and Option D is the one you mentioned. I suppose the potential exists for Option E, actually responding to the post in an intelligent manner, arguing his position with actual logic and supporting statements, but I haven't seen it yet, so I'm not exactly holding out much hope.

No, he didn't. He saw the potential of the Arpanet (emergency military computer network) and fought for the funding that would turn it into the Internet we know and love today.

And the direct quote was "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet." Which he did, by championing and funding it, not by writing the fucking PASCAL code that allows packet switching.

What is it with people using the "evidence card" all the time?

Google? Research of facts? Can't we just make things up and be belligerent and ignorant?

I was being sarcastic, by the way.

It could be, if you didn't read the entire transcript of the interview. It wasn't taken that way until Dick Armey's office started faxing out like mad to everyone they could find saying that he had made outlandish comments and that peopel were up in arms about it. Of course no one had even heard a single peep about it until after those faxs went out and people ran with it using the word invented.

It was just a republican trying to discredit a possible presidental nominee. He got your "reliable" sources to run with an inacurate representation of what was actually said and the american people just acepted it as the truth. Many people to this day still beleive gore actually said and I QUOTE "I invented the internet" because thats what they were told.

He didn't claim to be the creater of the internet in a sence that he was going to get it patented. He was infact probably the most important person in passing legislation that allowed the internet as we know it today to form into what we have now.
