Anyone know a good online career path test?

Postby Ciladan » Sat May 14, 2005 12:30 pm

I tried one at http://www.livecareer.com but I smell a cash grab more then a tool to actually help people.

I still have no real clue what career path I want to take and a couple tests might help steer me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance!

Go to the library or bookstore. Get a copy of Pathfinder by Nicholas Lore.
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

fuck those online tests.

First decision you HAVE to make is this: Do you want to do what you love or do you want to do what is most profitable?

You really have to ask yourself that and determine somewhat of a ration.

For me it is 100 percent profit. I run a computer company. I really don't like selling technology and services so much. I would prefer to run a nightclub. The thing is that the IT business is very profitable so I spend my time doing that.

Make that decision first and then start looking at jobs/business that fit your preference.

Get rid of the pictures of the goofy looking white guy. That opens two right there.

yea unless you are extremely lucky you won't jsut "fall into" something you love, chances are a little better that you will fall into something profitable, but only if you have a good work ethic, and some good connections. Find what you love and then be willing to chase a long term goal, or ask some rich guy what he does and bust your ass until you have a bigger house than he does.
