i dont remember exact numbers but you can have a max of X amount of skills and can only use X amount of skills while grouped, it's been awhile since ive played, so Lyion of someone feel free to correct me if im wrong.

you get 8 skills per mission/explorable/pvp match... but you can have everyone of the 75 skills per profession. So 150 total.
you can get runes that improves your attributes... weapon upgrades.. such as a Firey hilt.. to give your weapon fire dmg. a Sword Pommel that gives +4 armor vs elements (which is very useful for warriors).. many others.
Its fun if you don't rush thru like a mad man hehe.. i did i already beat thelast guy.. but its still fun. Though you kno the missions.. trying new characters is fun. I have a Necro/monk at lvl 15.. and a elementalist/monk at lvl 5. During the betas i was a Warrior/Mesmer.. a Elementalist/Ranger.
each class has an advantge over another. Mesmers can kick the shit out of warriors really quick.. no matter your armor, since their spells ignore armor. Elementalists are very much like AoE groups in EQ for farming.
The only problem i have with the game is the lack of armor types. pretty much your stuck with maybe 3 at most. and realy only 2. I use Knigh's Armor for my warrior cause it reduces dmg taken from attacks. but elementalists get a few different that work with each line of magic.. Fire, Air, Water, Earth..
there are some nifty items such as Chaos Axes which are like this blue light shaped like an double sided axe. Magmas shield (which i use) that is a blackened Skull with its mouth WIDE open and in the mouth flowing lava. Flaming swords of course.. double hammers.
Tha good thing about this game is you do not NEED to rush. And if you don't want to deal with retards (which atm thee are ALOT of) you just get henchmen or solo if you can. And honestly atm.. the people like me who are at the end of the game or are in the last few mission there isn't enough people there so groups suck or are non exsistant.
one of the last missions a group i had tried with no monk just to learn strategy on it (you need strategies for the last like 8 missions for sure) and we ended up beating it.. but couldn't get past the first 3 mobs in the last missions (no monk)
Its fun if you have people to play with. Or if you like going at it yourself. Its nothing like EQ in the sense of epic fights. But as you continue missions sometimes it feels epic.. cause yuo have lost time after time.. and you almost beat it.. then WAM you beat it. For example (i didnt lose at this at all but) one mission makes you do a trek to a Keep, you clear it of evil dwarves.. then you hold the keep for 3 mins with an army attacking you with things that are pretty nasty.

it actually isn't like EQ or WoW.. in pvp elite skills aren't over powerful, and armor you get what you want when you make a pvp character (skills must be unlocked thru pve.. but that takes maybe a week).
they did already nerf drops in certain areas.. like in one mission these giants dropped runes for armor upgrades like EVERY time. now its rare. Other places give more items. But there is no Rushing, KSing or whatever.
its damn fun. Eventho i am from EQ.. i find this more enjoyable because you can go at your own pace for the most part.

Really, an hour a day or less is perfect though. My gripe is still PVP isn't viable for part timers, for a long time.
The game is pretty easy to pick up, and while the system isn't the same as EQ or WOW, my point is the people who will win at PVP and have the best stuff will be the hardcore ones. Which is the same.
