I've never read any of Frankens books, so I could be way off, but my perception of him is that he is similar to that tubby fake-documentary maker. Obnoxious and very self righteous. But as I said, I haven't read his books, so this may be wrong.

And Ann, she seems totally boring. All she can talk about is liberal this, liberal that. An obsessive one trick pony.

The only time I have seen or read anything by Al Franken was on SNL, I doubt I could ever get past that image to take him seriously.
