Why do you play Everquest?

Post by Yamori »

What is your reasoning behind spending so many hours on a game? What makes you do it?

Friends? Boredom? Escape?

For me, it's because right now my life is really aweful, so I spend as much time escaping from it (via EQ) as I can. I get distracted from my problems when I'm killing frogloks. :P

How bouts you?

That works Yamori. A little unneeded advice. I did that for awhile, and it resulted in postponement, not resolution. Just make sure that in between some of the escapism that some of the hard work of getting through whatever it is is being done. Small steps

Some good advice, but unfortunately my problems may be life long, and I don't know how to solve them past what I have already done. :/

I personally have no social life outside college and plus I'm addicted which I blame my bro-in-law for lol. Also good entertainment and escape from reality.

Btw most problems will show a solution when you least expect it. They usually do for me anyway.

Especially when you are looking at the monitor instead of looking for a solution. Damn near anything can sneak up on ya that way.

Hm.. I play EverQuest, originally because I love fantasy and always thought it looked interesting and for a while there it was just plain addicting and gave me time to relax and do something in the house while my baby was sleeping, but now, even though it's still addicting, I play mostly for the people I consider close to me. I have made some wonderful friends in EverQuest, and even though I do take breaks when I need them, they are always the reason why I come back... and I love the game. :darcler:

I couldn't agree more. Personally, I like to play EQ when I feel like being left alone by friends or whoever else. Sometimes it's just like that. . .I play it for recreations and what not. Just hard to balance, when you're compulsive at whatever you do.

Hmm I used to play because of how cool the game was the first year, then it was because of the friends. But then I graduated college, got married, and started living my whipped life so I left.

Teh End.
