Master spells

Which mobs in which zones can drop these? Having a hard time finding info.

I had one drop off a gnoll in TS by Tower 1. I think it's random off any mob that can drop spells.

What's the difference between master spells and spells you can master for a particular mob, like the little green + sign that appears at the bottom right corner of your screen every couple of levels that asks you if you'd like to concentrate or whatever in Goblins, Golems, Orcs, or <insert other mob here> ?

Spells go in tiers

Apprentice

Adept

Master

The + Master spells are special ones that don't drop. The ones that do drop are for your regular spell-line.

aah ok, thanks. I can't recall ever seeing one drop. The only thing I've ever seen drop paper-wise or scroll-wise was books for recipes, furniture-making, alchemy books, etc. and requisition orders.

"Master" spells are master level as opposed to Apprentice III or Adept III or what not. So it's a higher "level" more effective version of spells you already have.

The Gnoll Master Smite or whatever you are using is a NEW spell that targets only gnolls. You get the spell at MASTER I "Quality" but it's not what most people refer to as a master spell.

Master spells only drop off of named mobs at least that all that did when I saw them. Also the chest that drops tells you something about what's inside. If it's a wooden chest it's usually crap but in rare cases it could drop opals,rubies, or ebons. If it's a metal chest thats the good loot which could also have a master spell in it.

Adept III spells are almost the same as a Master I spells so if you really don't want to spend that amount of plat on a Master get an adept 3. All my spells are adept3 quality b/c I don't wish to pay 4 or 5pp just to up either my dmg by 30 or buffs by 2, It's pathetic pretty much.

Also, at certain lvl's you can choose certain master strikes/buffs for certain creatures which pretty much becomes useless at lvl 40+

Nah...I got my master off a regular old gnoll. Of course, that was in the early days of the game and things might have changed.

I've seen drop off giants in TS and mobs in varsoons

Recently we've gotten them from them from Vox, T'Haen when we cured the plague, Venekor,and Darathar

What are master spells?
The way I am playing this game is I am not reading anything into it, so I dont know what the fuck I'm doing, so I have that same feel of being the newb from EQ1. It's keeping me interested.

They are just the highest upgrade to a spell.

It allows you to use the spell effectivly 1 level longer than adept 3.

Nice to have, but definitly not worth paying for.

Masters are worthless imo seeings there isn't much difference from Adept III was looking at my feign death "Stop Heart" Think there was like a 2 lvl difference with a 3pp price difference too. Lol

When you hit lvl 50 adventure, lvl 50 crafter, and have tons of spare money, that is when you buy all the masters. Otherwise there is no point.

u can get master chests of any mob, higher chance of a named mob in general......

the masteries u get like gnoll, orc what not some are useless, but work out very well in some raid zones against skeletons and what not...

most masterys sell for 1pp+ I have been lucky and gorren 3 of mine under that and the rest on raids, do agree with Miroh tho, I have all my 50 guardian spells adept 3 except for the 5 masters
