This isn't a "talk Sarthis out of getting married" thread though, I'm looking to see engagement rings and stuff of that ilk so I can get some ideas.
please tell me this isn't the only piece of pussy you have ever gotten?!
Dr Captain Insano to the rescue...
Since you are probably moving in together your life is pretty much going to go to hell FAST.
Sweet Jesus your lucky you aren't getting truly married for another two years....
Hopefully within that time your miserble hellish life with her will snap you back into reality and you'll bail.
Anyways, i HIGHLY recommend that you tell her you have to go on a biz trip here soon and spend at least 2 weeks in BangKOK. When your not out traveling the globe in search of sexual escapades you should try and hit up the 30' something single/divorcee women's hangouts.
At that age most women have a place of their own and you can go get laid by women other than your soon to be wife.
If after two years of this you still want to give up the Captain Big Pimpin Insano lifestyle then the girl is the one for you.
Oh rings..
I recommend cock ring. Make her remove it with her tongue and lips. Its the gift that keeps on giving.
Tossica: No, you're gay because you suck on cocks.
Darcler:
Get rid of the pictures of the goofy looking white guy. That opens two right there.
Mazzletoffarado: That's me fucktard

a diamond from africa that was imported/sold illegally... Usually mined by children.
If you give your fiance one it shows true love.

Re: Help Me Find Engagement Rings
Sarthis wrote:I got engaged last weekend to a really incredible girl, but I'm having some troubles figuring out what kind of engagement ring to snag. Some of ya'll might have some experience in this realm, and I could use some help.
She seems to be wanting something celtic/irish/scottish, she does not want a real diamond (she wants to avoid conflict diamonds), and she dislikes gold.
Anyone have any jumping off points for me to look?
Right on bro! Aren't you up in the washington area (like me)? There are some great places up here to get celtic bands and such. I'm not sure about the engagement ring but if I were you I would stop in at a few stores and look around and talk with them to see if they can recommend something for you in your price range and style.
One other thing if you really dig the celtic style, pick up a copy of the local rag called "The Stranger", there are some great ring places in there.

If you are serious about getting married, here is a good place to get nice platinum wedding and engagement rings:

On a side note, as crude as Ralph's words were, I agree with the idea behind them. At your age you should be out getting as much tail as possible. If you still have the feelings for that same person, then marry her. But, it's your life, blah, blah, blah, do what makes you happy.
Another side note! With all these women wanting equallity and shit, you should make her get you an equally expensive engagement ring. That's what I told my girlfriend she'll be doing. That's how I found that link in the first place. I was looking for a nice engagement ring for myself...

The above is reason enough to want to marry her!
The diamond industry is probably the most profitable scam of all time. Once, diamonds were rare, so they did have value due to their scarcity and sparkling beauty. But that's no longer the case, especially when you can buy an equally beautiful Zirconia for a fraction of the price.
Diamond or Zirconia:
If the industry based it's prices on supply and demand, most diamonds would be cheaper than a lap dance in Vegas.
Like someone else mentioned, if you are forced by a brainwashed bride-to-be, then make damn sure you pick out an equally expensive ring for yourself. Considering there are some pretty kickass looking diamond rings for men these days, you shouldn't have to settle for some bland gold band. Watching her head explode when you do pick out the "ring of your dreams" is icing on the cake!

As a woman who got married less than a month ago, my advice is take her with you some places and let her choose the ring.
When Dave and I started talking marriage, I let him know early not to surprise me with a ring. I have very particular taste and as well as Dave knew me, I doubt he would have insight to really predict my jewelry preferences. I think often in orevious generations most engagement rings were just skinny gold bands with a single diamond in it, so it was easy for a guy to just buy what he could afford. I think nowadays with so many ring options, most women are more interested in the actual design of the ring than the size of the stone. Yours is a perfect case as she doesn't want either yellow gold or a real diamond.
I designed both my engagement ring and wedding ring. I knew exactly what I wanted and was able to draw it adequately to get the point across to the jeweler. Even if your lady doesn't know exactly what she wants, save both of you the potential awkwardness if you get her something she doesn't love and take her shopping with you. I mean, you could probably get her a ring-pop and if she loves you she'd love it anyway, but it certainly doesn't hurt to adore both the intent of the ring and the actual look of it.
Just my 2 cents, and congratulations on the engagement.
