Because Tigole, ariel, dalomin and a couple other blizz people played in LoS.

If you notice there is a Crazz, Mudcrush, a quest guy named Gann, Dorana... a couple others I cant think of off the top of my head. Most of which are quest mobs.

I am waiting for a quest mob named Rhap with a forty ounce in his hand and when you talk to him he says AFK going to liquor store.

A lot of old LoS have cameos in the game, due to being guildies of Enoyls and Tigole perhaps.

I've also seen Crazz, Korelor, Berton, Dorana, Danuvin, Leick, Deni, Gullem, Rhap(sody) Shindigger, Galiaan. I've probably forgotten others.

Beardo and Redmuse were AH npcs in beta (though not LoS).

I'm sure there are other NPCs named after characters that I am unaware of.

Mop: There is a Rhap mob in the game. He's a drunk dwarf, and his quest involves you going and getting him a new kind of beer, if I remember right. He has the full name though, Rhapsody Shindigger, not just Rhap. He's in Hinterlands, in the norht, right past the turn you make going north towards the lake with Scholomance.
