If a world-wide death penalty for rape was in effect and it reduced actual rape cases to a mere dozen or so, would you want it reversed even though it would mean rape cases would rise back to their current levels?

Being as I am aposed to the death penalty, I would be aposed to it every going into affect. I also do not believe that it would lower the number of rapes. It would however cause problems with people being put to death when rape wasn't actually committed.

Also, are you opposed to people using deadly force on people who pose a legitimate threat to them? Including a person threated with rape?

I have been trained to use deadly force, I have trained people to use deadly force, if your life or the life of somone else is threatened, I say defend yourself with any amount of fource you can.

You didn't really answer the question Gidan... Are you opposed to the use of deadly force if the threat presented while physical, is not deadly? Please don't misunderstand my motives in asking for clarification. I for one can definitely see how one can logically be against the death penalty, and still be wholly willing to use lethal force to defend themselves or others.

Weren't you just arguing in another thread about even criminals have rights, well along that same line of thinking even rapists have the basic right to not having their penises ripped off and left to rot in a hole....

Just shoot the bastards when they get to prison, and you just MIGHT get rid of them in a generation or three.

I believe you should use the force necessary you feel is necessary to defend yourself. If you honestly believe your life is in danger, you should use whatever force it required to protect yourself. In the case of rape, the woman’s life may very well be in jeopardy and if she protected herself with deadly force, I for one would be behind her if it went to court. It is true that the rapist may never have intended to kill her, but there is no way for her to know that.

If you believe your life may be at risk, use whatever you have to protect yourself. IMO if you are being physically attacked, your life is always at risk. If you want to make a case saying you know its not going to kill you, I say do what you feel is necessary to protect yourself, if the only way to protect yourself is through deadly force, use it.

I still believe that criminals have basic rights. That doesn’t mean that I do not think they should be punished. Rape is a crime, if you are convicted of it, you should be punished. I believe rape is a serious crime that shouldn’t be handled lightly. Since I do not believe in the death penalty, I do not think they should be put to death. I do however believe the punishment should be extremely severe.

A couple things will happen. First, the people commiting thr crimes will just start to look for them first. Next some women will exploid it and use it to "set up" people. 3rd, at some point somone is going to get hurt from having this on, I mean hurt in a serious way, that person is going to sue, the company that makes them is going to be paying out a whole lot to that person, then others are just going to follow in his footsteps, evntually the company goes out of business due to lawsuites.

More or less, nothing has been solved. Rapes still happen, innocent guys are wrongly trapped by this thing and a company goes under.

I have no doubt this will happen. Some psycho bitch is going to use it to get even with her man for one way or another and he's gonna get hurt.

This is the equivalent of shooting someone robbing your home and them turning around and sueing the shit out of you.
