There is definatly no shortage of PVP on PVE servers when you want to do it. PVPing is alot of fun but there are just times where you dont want to deal with it.
For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.

Dethecus is a low pop server. That's where I went once I saw the fun (and thrill of danger) of a PvP server.

No, he's right

PvP servers have a much higher population of gankers/griefers

so if that's what you're into, by all means go pvp

the PvP on the PvE servers is always consensual, so if you just wanna run around and collect tradeskill shit you don't have to worry about getting ganked while taking a leak

there's so much PvP on the PvE servers, i seriously don't know why you'd play PvP

the only reason would be you enjoy ganking, or griefing

that's seriously the only difference

yeah dog because pvp is all about consensual fighting and not adapting to new and different situations

some people actually like having to be on the ball constantly

Apparently you've never done pvp on a pve server.

The problem is that the environment on a PVP server is completely different. I enjoy having to constantly watch my back and be ready to fight at a moments notice, where as you would rather only PVP when you feel like it. It is completely understandable, different strokes for different folks.

I dunno about you but when I'm somewhere I'm not just hanging out doing nothing. I'm either in an instance or I'm in Orgrimmar. It makes no difference.

It evens out.

There is no danger or risk, and it's 'controlled' PVP, it's not really PVP. It's frickin duelling.

What you are trying to say is if people are into 100% PVP that can occur anytime and real online danger then go to a PVP server.

If they are into duelling and play PVP once in a while, go to a PVE server.

I'm on Frostwolf although I haven't played since May.

The only difference for me with pvp and pve servers is that I have to log out of a pvp server if I go afk...big deal.

And you're wrong. I played on a pvp in beta (limited) and also play on one part time now (lvl 52) thanks for the input though.

Hey, nice way to provide points, reasons, and discussions why they aren't different.

It's rather simple. On a PVE server you choose when you PVP. On a PVP server, it chooses you whenever and whereever it wants.

I play on both PvP (42 rogue) and PvE (58 hunter).

Taxx, you are somewhat wrong on this. I can go AFK to take a leak, an extended dump, or to get a drink without logging and have no fear of getting ganked on a PvP server. I don't care if I'm in the middle of STV. I just find an out of the way place and hide as best I can.

The only benefits to a PvE server is that you don't have to be constantly looking over your back and you can chose when to engage AF. Nothing else that I can detect.

The benefits of a PvP server are many. You learn what to do when jumped by one or more AF without warning. You definately learn to play your class much better. The adrenaline rush from beating the tar out of someone who thought they would gank you is just freakin' awsome!

The reason people use the term "carebear" to describe PvE is because there is no real danger from anything but mobs. On PvP, you not only have mobs, but the opposite faction after your ass.

Everyone has their own preference. Play what you want just don't bag on people for what they prefer.
