Yet again, my comments go WOOOOOOOOOSH right over Mindia's head. Not that this is unusual, I would be far far more surprised if he understood something I, or actually ANYONE said, that happened to differ 1 iota from his world view. Hell, he hasn't admitted he was wrong about his blazing idiocy about the comet impact, despite me, vonkaar, and, you know, newtonian physics showing that he was, indeed, a flaming retard.

Oh, and guess what, Mindia, I can burn a flag right here in the US of A without having a single charge filed against me, as long as it's my flag, and not one I stole from someone else, and the burning of said flag isn't liable to set anything else on fire. Funny, that doesn't seem to me I would be "catching hell for doing it", except from narrow-minded bigoted zealots like you, who would threaten me with bodily harm, who I would then cheerfully turn into the police and sue for everything they owned.

Once again, since I know you won't understand it: Free speech doesn't mean that people can say whatever they want, as long as you agree with it. Free speech means people can say whatever they want, even if you find it absolutely distasteful, disgusting, and utterly reprehensible. Don't like it? Move to somewhere that doesn't have freedom of speech as one of the fundamental tenets of government.

If I caught someone burning an american flag in my presence I would gladly go to jail for turning them into a mass of bloody pulp.

In that case I would gladly kill you, claim self defense, and not go to jail. I would also have done the country a service.

Your comments haven't gone over anybody's head. You think you're teaching me something here? LMAO. You have nothing to teach ANYBODY, except how to be an asshole. Congratulations on that accomplishment. Your ilk are the subhumans that think they can burn the flag and do anything else vulgar and offensive as soon as something doesn't go their way, or as soon as they have political differences with whoever conservative is in office. Some people care for this country. You obviously don't. Burning the flag is tantamount to screaming "FUCK YOU AMERICA," and you'd only do it to get a rise out of somebody. Well, I hope you burn a flag and get your ass kicked hard.

Your crap is old stench. You are a clueless anti-American wreck. One of these days somebody IS gonna bust your teeth out, and my only regret is that we don't live in the same town, so I won't get to witness it first-hand and be laughing my ass off when it happens.

I wouldn't burn a flag. Mostly because I don't care what it means. The types that burn flags are those anarchist kids that hang around downtown, smell bad, and have bad piercings.

Mindia wrote:MARYVILLE, Tenn. - A teenager was jailed for nine days after being accused of burning an American flag on the Fourth of July, and he faces trial next month.

While the case could test a state statute against flag burning — an act the U.S. Supreme Court says is protected under the First Amendment — prosecutors said Andrew Elisha Staley has yet to argue that he was exercising free speech rights.

"Bottom line is, the kid got drunk," said Lisa Lee, his mother. "He's never been in trouble before."

Staley, 18, is accused of taking the flag from a residence and setting it on fire. His father said the teenager "has no reason for anger against the United States" and could easily have ignited a garbage can instead of a flag.

"He was brought up in church, and he knows right from wrong," Doc Staley said.

Doc Staley said his son has been "floundering around" since dropping out of high school. "This is where the drinking came in. And he's not very good at it," the father said.

The teenager was released from jail Thursday on his own recognizance while he awaits his Aug. 2 trial on charges of desecrating a venerated object, underage drinking, littering, evading arrest, burning personal property and theft.

The Tennessee flag-burning statute makes the crime a misdemeanor, punishable by less than a year in jail and up to $2,500 fine.

I hope they spank this idiot HARD.

This whole freedom of speech thing... does this mean I can say "nigger" in public more often now?

Its very amusing that people are willing to goto jail for attacking somone for burning a flag, and on top of that saying they are doing it for America. I guess it just never really got through to them that our freedom to do things like burning the flag is what makes this country great. You have the freedom to speak out against your govnment without fearing for your life or the chance of spending the rest of your life in prison.

People like you really dont know what it is to be americans and to be free, you want everyone to live in a country where its illegal to do anything that is against your own views, if you dont like the way things are here then leave. No one is forcing you to stay here.

I have no tolerance for ungrateful pricks. It has nothing to do with my "understanding of freedom".

It also has nothing to do with what I want to be illegal and what I want to be legal. Even inferring that is pretty ridiculously irrelevent to this conversation.
