the new PVP server

Post by Langston »

So I went and created a character on the new PVP server when it came up. I spent a little time and got him to level 13 and was running around the barrens.

Is it just me, or is there just a vast plethora of idiots on PVP servers? Everyone has some chip on their shoulder, tough-guy routine going on in every chat channel, say, emotes, tells.... it's stupid.

I know that you have to have a little bit more of an edge to play on a PVP server... but there was just this whole attitude thing that permeated the entire server.

Is it like that on all PVP servers or was it just that there were a ton of kids that jumped to the new realm when it came up and were busy masturbating all over each other? I ask because I thought it would be kind of fun to have a PVP realm character since I almost exclusively PVP on my "care bear" server. I've been honing my skills and wanted to see how well I can "hang" with the people who do it 100% of the time, but I was really turned off by the bullshit.

everytime that I wish you could chat back and forth between factions, I go play on a PvP server for 5 minutes

I can't even imagine what the general channels would be like

Frostwolf was TERRIBLE. Possibly the worst community and group of social rejects I've ever encountered in years and years of online gaming.

I played in Shadowbane and the DAOC PVP server and neither were the bullshit ridiculous setups Frostwolf was.

If the new server is like that, I'd guess most PVP servers are.

I was out killing Plainstriders north of Crossroads... there's a ton of them all over the place there and I'm happily grinding away for my 8 beaks at a 20% drop rate (*sigh*). There's a rogue out in the field doing the same thing... I finish killing one emu and then notice that the rogue is /spitting on me. I turn around to look at him and he runs away. I sent him a tell saying "Is there a problem?"... his response "what do you mean?".

Fucking pussies. Irritates the hell out of me.

Ive used to play on Laughing Skull (PvP), my current home is at Destomath (PvP) and my druid alt on Elune (PvE).

I havent noticed any supreme difference in faggots between Destomath and Elune. And I can easily imagine a variety of shitty additutes coming from people hitting a new server.

Sometimes new servers are a haven for folks escaping from a bad rep on other servers. It happened in EQ alot (see Shadowspear) and it's bound to happen in WoW

I play on Bleeding Hollow, one of the most populated PVP servers and its not that bad. I can see that coming from the opposite faction though. If/when I get ganked I expect to see a plethora of /spit /laugh /golfclap even if it's 5 on 1.

Then again, I /spit on anyone that attempts to gank me while I'm questing and loses. :)

ner'zhul wasn't bad at all, most of the counterstrike kids and dumbasses were kept in line and ridiculed constantly when they acted stupid - it really wasn't all that different than the nameless except on the whole people were younger

Thunderlord was like that at the beginning. Pretty much a phase ppl go thru I guess, ganking, corpse camping and generally obnoxious behavior, trash talkin and such. That all cooled out about 3 months in like by March. Now we have a pretty decent community on both sides, still the random a~hole here and there. That's what /ignore is for eh?
