I take a month off for summer and go to log on to WoW and the login server is fucked..

haha this shitheap's been released for what 10 months and still doesn't work... roflrofl. I think original EQ was working better than this.

I hope this entire genre of video games just dies off and all the people responsible end up fired and on the street homeless.

yah it was the server... after a few attempts logging on my server I tried another realm and got right on.

Which means they were still fucked up. Totally unnacceptable at this point.

that server blew ass too for a long while there. Thats what made me leave in the first place. No biggie really. I hardly ever play video games these days or feel the inclination to do so.

You're one lucky Canadian.

I was reading a recent thread over on FoH's board and it seems that many many realms and people are still having a lot of problems.

That compounded with the fact that they haven't even released an expansion yet is pretty shitastic, not to mention the horrible login que's for BGrounds.

I actually reactivated my EQII account recently and found that pretty boring also.

This far down the road I am just totally unimpressed with the entire MMOG genre of video games.... These companies have had so long to get their shit together and all of them have produced mediocre products at best. All said and done I still think to this very day EQ1 is more fun to play than any of the others out there. If the game wasn't so damn old I might actually still be fucking around with it.

IMO SOE should have found a way to design a new engine and some new worlds and ported the entire EQ playerbase over with a completely redesigned combat/talent engine.

Had they done that I think they would have crushed Blizzard.

W00T! Login servers are fucked again and the serverstatus website seems to have been hosted on a Commadore 64 with 14.4 BPS modem.

Man I fucking live in Irvine... I think I'm going to go to Blizzard HQ and insert some boot in ass.

I could be but I think in this case it was their fault... they had an error up for a bout 1.5 hours saying they were having anomalies with the matrix, I mean local internet that was causing login issues.

Here's something I don't get... Instead of just having people bombard the login server after a problem is fixed why not have a numbered login cue with an estimated login time?

That way people wouldn't continue to attempt to relog further bogging down the server and at least you would have some idea how long its going to take to get back on.
