I'm not fond of Jeeps, I'd rather have a Defender 90 ;)

Not really.

I'm willing to travel to obtain it and would be rebuilding it rather than buying one rebuilt for me.

Would be an interesting project at least. I always have respect for that. Good luck in finding one.

Nah, the Disco IIs are '99 and low mileage.

Think he meant the interest you would pay on your Heloc.

Which would be next to nothing if you got the right one

Ive gotta agree with Mindia. If I had $35k to plunk down on a ride right now, Id head straight to the Subaru dealer and buy an '06 STi.

That car is the shiz right off the showroom floor. You don't need to upgrade jack shit. 300hp engine, AWD, Brembo brakes, Momo steering wheel, BBS wheels, CD sound system, stainless steel pedals, etc.

There's guys that will spend a fortune upgrading their Mustang GT by putting off-road H pipes, flowmaster exhaust, Mac stubby headers, computer chip, K&N filtercharger, blah blah blah... and the WRX STi would still kick its ass. lol

I heard the 300hp isn't to the wheels...

This is hearsay of course...

Horsepower ratings are usually bhp (block horsepower), not to the wheels. So, you are correct. However, you can get a dyno test done to see how much power you are getting to the wheels.

I dont care what its hp to the wheels is. its AWD, and it does 0-60 in 4.5. Good enough for me. That can keep up with a $60k corvette. And handle better.

That being said, I like the WRX's.

They look sharp.

me too, that tmic does detract, but i understand why they did it. Supposed to be a rally car, and with the ic on top like that can make it through some pretty deep water without dying.

I already got my obtainable dream car bout 4 months ago... it was that grey infiniti G35 I posted pictures of. I fucking love it. Paying the lease every month isn't annoying in the least honestly, because everytime I drive now I am having a good time. I finally put 4k miles on it and the engine is at last breaking in... It's getting really fast at this point.

If you are going to drop 35k on a vehicle the infiniti is a very good way to do it IMO.

couldn't have said it better. The only thing that resembles *American Muscle* anymore is the new Vette's which are super sweet for the price.

Everything else is shit compared to the Japs auto's.

Someday I intend to get a used WRX and turn it into a full on Rally car and go nuts out in Ocotillo Wells or any other open desert.... that or a turbo Sand-Rail.

maybe im old school, but i much prefer the throaty growl of a big american block engine. the high pitched buzzzz that comes out of a ricer makes me laugh. that, and i think ricers for the most part are ugly little bubbles on wheels.. ie: subarus.

besides the upcomin shelby gt500 (which is the best looking sports car on the road atm) will be pushin 500hp for around 40kish, thats a thing of beauty.

I understand about the v8 sound, its the best. But the forced induction boxer engine that subaru uses has a very unique sound. I like it.
