$700 won't get you enough beef on a laptop to play WoW in an enjoyable fashion.

700 will get her enough. She just needs to wait for a 50-75% off deal which is coming every month or so from Dell. let me see if I have any coupons on any of my shopping websites.

I had a friend get one for 650 shipped that plays WOW fine. It also will be good for college.

It wont be as powerful as a regular PC, but it will be WOWable.

$750 without a monitor is sufficient for WoW.

No, if I get the computer, I won't need the Ram or the HD, its from my old computer which cant be upgraded anymore, because its crap.

How old is it? The newest mobos will fit in a 6 or 7-year old ATX case no problem. Even all the screw-holes are still in alignment. I built a 2nd system using an old case... works great. Just get a new mobo and put some upgrades on it. You might save some money.

He's too old and short for me, but he does own one of the bars in the area. Oh, and he's Italian. Italian men are so yummy.

OK sorry to bump. I ended up NOT gtting the $750 to dell, which pissed me off.

So I got this from tigerdirect.com. Is this a good deal?

• Intel Celeron D 2.93GHz Processor
• 512MB DDR
• 80GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive
• DVD+/-RW Dual Layer DVD Burner
• Flash Media Reader (Compact Flash, MicroDrive,
MemoryStick, MemoryStick Pro, SmartMedia,
MultiMedia and Secure Digital)
• Intel Extreme Graphics 3D
• Integrated Premium Audio
• Integrated LAN support 10/100
• Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
• Multimedia Keyboard (122 keys)
• eMachines Premium Mouse
• Stereo Speakers
• 2 USB ports
• VGA port
• Parallel and Serial COM ports
• Dual-Fan Cooling System
• 4 Expansion Slots
• Audio Jacks
• Factory Reconditioned

For $379.99. Is this worth it?

Well, let's put it this way...
You are getting exactly what you paid for.
As for a gaming machine to run WoW, just don't expect anything incredible preformance-wise.

This:
• Intel Celeron D 2.93GHz Processor
• Intel Extreme Graphics 3D (much as I love Intel products, I am not a fan of this)
• Integrated Premium Audio
• 512MB DDR

pretty much defines what kind of performance you are going to get out of the machine, which won't be anything fantastic, but it should run smoothly enough.
However, for $380, it's not a bad deal at all. For top of the line machines, you'd pay damn near $380 just for the video card.

From my experience.. a celeron is one of the worst processers to go with. If you can avoid that, I would. Other than that, depending on what video/sound card you have plus the gig of ram, I'd think you'll be ok.

I mean.. a celeron will get the job done enough, but it's a pos, imo.
