Actually, a genie did pop up, but I had to flee due to a portly arab wielding a scimitar yelling "Hasan chop!" giving chase.

Nice spin attempt. I believe in Mary, the virgin mother of Jesus. What I don't believe in is the worship of an idol. There is a big difference.

It's tough to believe in words you don't understand, eh? Allow me to explain... no, there is no time. Allow me to sum up: Catholics don't pray to statues of the Virgin Mary and don't ascribe supernatural powers to rosary beads.

Yep, as I mentioned, I'm not Catholic and am hardly a seminary scholar. Somehow, I manage to remain a bit ahead of such theological luminaries such as yourself, or would you care to point out which bit of Catholic dogma promotes either point?

I thought not.

They're not going to admit it. They will conceal it as "asking Mary to pray for them, or asking a Saint to pray for or with them." You need to stop being so naive.

Ah, right. So Catholics don't actually worship statues of Mary? You just made that up? I wouldn't think anyone could actually misinterpret "asking Mary to pray for them" as worshipping a statue of Mary, so I'm going to have to go with deliberate propaganda on your part.

At least you've dropped the bizarre 'rosaries have magic powers' routine you were trying to assign to Catholics. Progress has been made!

I repeat, if you should actually find proof of either of the challenged claims, feel free to post it. Otherwise, continue with the backpedalling.

Mindia must know some freaky Catholics.

8 yrs of Catholic school and was never told to worship an idol of Mary or use my magic rosery beads.

I think I said the rosery like.....twice or something over those 8 years.

That is what it's called when you abandon previously made claims in the face of contrary evidence rather than addressing it.

I worship Mary because she's a virgin... and everyone wants a little virgin action. AM I RIGHT!?!? AM I RIGHT!?!?!

And rosary beads aren't magical... they're mystical. Especially cool ones with rubber bands instead of wire/string for the beads - because not only do they grant wishes, but you can pop your buddy in the back of the head with them too!

Mindia - you forgot to bring up how Catholics are actually worshiping 3 Egyptian gods. How could you forget that little bit of propag.. *cough* FACT?

I'm disappointed in you... you're letting your seething Catholic hate commentary slip.

Isis, Horus, and Seb. Yup, I remember well, you fruitcake. That's why there's an "IHS" stamped on each "Jesus" wafer. And I don't hate Catholics... I have quite a few Catholic friends. I just don't like how the RCC teaches those funky paganistic traditions. That's right I said Paganistic. If you've ever been to a Catholic funeral you'd know about that too. You know how the priest shakes the incense smoke all around the coffin? That's a pagan ritual. I swear, Catholics are walking a thin line of Christianity/paganism mixed in with idolatry and stupidity. But, to each his own. I'm just glad I studied all the major Christian denominations and chose the one Christian sect that follows the Bible closer than any other denomination without any bizarre rituals and idolatry.

Hey, stop celebrating on December 25th.

It's a pagan ritual.
